To the OP, buy it because you can, because you want to, but when you do, do not buy it because of your current budget. Stop, look, listen, READ..Educate yourself further..Then save your money and buy a better car 2,4,6,18 months down the road.

I'll leave it at that.

And that worm of a thread was even fatter and juicier before he went back and deleted some of his really inflammatory posts.

You know, that might have been what finally pushed Jamo over the edge on that guy. Nothing pisses him off more than somebody who posts something, usually acerbic, and then goes back later and removes it after already causing the mayhem.

Quick update: It’s been 9 months since I started moving towards my dream. Car finally made it to Florida, still needs to be shipped to Vintage Motorsports. Jay has been nothing but professional and a great resource (feedback, insight, finance/insurance contacts), and more importantly still available to answer the ridiculous number of questions I had lol. I’m so excited to for the final build VMS #2135

That looks good. What's the ETA for having it road-ready?

Hi patrickt thanks, thinking early/mid-January 2021. Completely trust the quality builds by Jay over at Vintage Motorsport so no rush

Thank you!

I think I know you jmarsey? If it’s you John, you were my first instructor into the world of HPDE events years ago starting at Thunderhill. Hope you’re doing well and thanks again

Great looking car. I'm right behind you at 2170 and Jay and Brian are doing mine too. Mine is not dupposed to get to this country until end of December so I figure mine is a couple of months behind yours. That's ok, I figure we are about 4 months away from good cobra weather anyway.

Thank you! That's awesome Vintage building our cars. Jay has been instrumental in helping me realize my dream car come true. Look forward to seeing yours when its built.

It's going to be another highline build for VMS. Some nice projects in the pipeline for 2021!!!

And you get the VMS 427Xv3 AND the Tremec TKX for waiting a bit.

Small world Steve! I thank you for the memory and yes, that was a while ago! I sold the FFR Challenge car at the end of the 2012 season so it must have been before that.

Happy to hear you stuck with it! Your seat time and experience on the track means you've done your homework, more than most first time owners. Work your way up to it and you'll be fine, as I know you will. You're going to love your Backdraft and I'm excited for you!

If you're still around these parts, I should be bouncing back and forth between Thill and Sonoma most of next year with NASA. Or, if you want to meet up for a drive after you have your car sorted, let me know.

Congats Steve, well done!

update: its been around 4 months since my car arrived in Florida and waiting for another car to be ready before shipping to the builder, Jay at Vintage. Excitement fatigue has set in, this waiting sucks but still feel blessed/thankful that it's happening.

Thanks for the update. Yes, waiting sucks. Spending a good deal of time waiting myself. It soon shall pass and will become a distant memory. Plenty of warm weather ahead.

Mine (2170) is also down in Miami now. Jay tells me they (Backdraft) has been having a great year so they are a little backed up in prepping the cars to ship. Since both of ours are coming up to Vintage, maybe they can just put them on the same truck and ship them up. Waiting is sure hard.

Lol yeah I knew they're shipping both of our cars together once yours was ready. No worries, sadly the waiting is starting to get to me. I just need to chill and start watching IMSA weathertech & F1 races

Well the 335 tires are hard to come by right now and the Tremec TKXs have not started shipping yet so we have time ...
