Tommy are you going to be at the Home Depot gathering this Saturday. If so I will plan to bring my Car, would like to get your opinion. My main reason for trying to find out what i have is to talk with the Manufacturer on suspension options. The fellow who had the kit built indicated the frame and body were from the same manufacturer (ERA). I do not see where any intentional deceit was involved at all, as the PO did not know the manufacturer, just knew he wanted the car, and said " he did not ask many questions". The original owner would have no incentive to mislead me. He seems to be getting old and said its a bit hard to recall all the details, but kit origin would seem to be most remembered. He was a really nice fellow to talk to, and was excited to hear about the car again and wanting pictures.
I have gone from believing I had a Classic Roadster to Unique, to Everett-Morrison, to ERA, and now back to Everett-Morrison. Such a Newbie. david

Shout out for TOMMY. What a delightful and gracious fellow to come over and see my Cobra and drive and ride the beast with me. We had a great morning of conversation. It was a pleasure to get to meet him. Tommy, having had an E-M; confirmed that I have an E-M. I am so embarrassed declaring it an ERA, but assumed the original owner would be the authority on its origin. You would think a 76 year old would have learned about assuming by now. It was nice for a few minutes believing I had an ERA. But the balloon bust was not so bad with an E-M safety net. Shout out to you all for such an informative and forgiving forum. david

Yep, we had a great time riding through the countryside and talking about everything. David's car appears to have the best of the old EM attributes - a strong, stiff frame and a thick, solid body. The car drove well and was in amazing shape for being 20 years old. And from what I could tell, David got a great deal on his purchase. It'll be a lot of fun for him tailoring it to his personal driving style and tastes.

I called the original owner again and turns out he did not buy the car from the manufacturer but bought it from a fellow he described as a crook and scammer. That fellow had bought the car started from a man who became sick and had to abandon the project. The 3rd owner now bought it as a rolling chassis with a stock mustang 2 front end and a 4 bolt ford rear end 7 or 7.5". So what he was relating to me, as the maker; is what he had been told and never really researched it. I think all the mysteries are over now. So I am now the third owner out of five who did not know what he had. :^). david

what do I have
Well the plot thickens. Went to order some door panels for my EM cobra and Tiernan told me I do not have an EM and he is certain of it. He told me the reasons the frame body did not appear to made by EM. So I am back at square one. Anyone with any ideas. has tube frame which limits search and is not a factory five. Whatever it is, it is well loved. 2300 miles in the last six months. Mostly sorted out now.
