Default New to the group.

Hey everybody. I've been a Cobra lover for almost as long as I remember. My interest started through building models and grew as I started to watch racing. As a late retirement present, I purchased a Superformance Mk.III as roller from Rich MacDonald at Hillbank. It's Highland Green with Wimbledon White stripes. I've been slowly buying everything I need to finish the car. I think they purposely don't tell you how much crap you need to buy to finish it. And none of it is cheap. Anyway, I finally found the right mechanic to put it all together and hopefully I can show it off soon. The 390 FE stroker was just mated to the TKX transmission.

Thanks for having me,
Dan

Congrat's & Welcome Dan. I have a soft spot for green Cobras, my first one (427 street) was a color called Zagato Dark (60's Ferrari color), a shade darker than what I thought was BRG, shows the beautiful lines of our Cobras The cost will be a distance memory, the first time you drive it, I think we've all been though that Lots of exc. guys & info. here, Cheers Tom.

Thanks Tom. I assuming you like Alfas and Cobras? I have a soft spot for Alfas. I sold my 1969 GTV to make room for the Cobra.

Welcome aboard! Good luck on the install and have fun. It will be a nice car. Just remember to respect it. Nothing like a cobra.

Jim

Indeed Dan, my last (Vintage) race car, 66 GTV (A true Veloce car), that had been a race car (BS, EP) it's whole life, 16years vintage racing, with that great Alfa (Damn 356 Porsches ). When I sold it to Jerry Tinney son (Big time Alfa racers) I had a tear in my eye, but we're just the caretaker, till the next owner, Cheers Tom.

I've been waiting a year to drive mine, Danny. Hopefully it'll only been a couple more weeks.

Welcome Dan!
Sounds like you’ve got a gorgeous car. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the entire experience. These cars are great fun. I’m on my 4th learning from each car that’s been in the stable. Lots of great contributors and friends here. Keep us posted on your progress including photos.
