Yes, they were cut that way on purpose. I'm almost totally convinced it's a Hi Tech/Sagebrush chassis. Tim Gunning told me not all were stamped with a number if it was bought as a bare chassis, and they cut the suspension towers with that serrated edge more like originals had.

Thanks I will keep in touch

If it were mine, I'd sandblast it and paint it asap. It looks to have a fair amount of rust and pitting on it and you don't want more!

BTW, it's a chassis intended for a fiberglass body. You can tell because parts of the birdcage are missing. If it was for an alloy body, it would have all those other tubes to wrap the alloy. They were made both ways depending on intent of the builder. More evidence that it's a Hi Tech!

The thing that I find interesting is the plates for the front and rear suspension cradles have serrated edges, like it was cut using a punch press

Correct. That is how AC Cars did it, they used a "nibbler" to cut the openings. Superformance also has the towers fabricated the same way.

It’s a HiTech
If done right the $1000 plus an additional $75,000 should get it done.

Jeff,

No, 75K will get it to the proverbial "90%" as the last 10% is the hard part!
