New Member Looking for Advice

Hello All,
I don't own a Cobra but have wanted one since the first time I laid eyes one back in the 60s. There is so much information out there I don't know which way to turn. I hope folks on this list can help me by giving advice. I want to buy a turn key Cobra. Have not decided on the engine, 289, 302, 427...?
1) What are the most common mistakes a new buyer makes?
2) How does one find out who the best builders are?
3) Any advice from the group would be greatly apprecitated.
