Default Bug Screen for Radiator

I am currently finishing my Backdraft Cobra project and have finally gotten the car on the road. One of the questions I have.....are there any bug guards or screens available which fit into the front cowl area in front of the radiator (my electric fan is behind the radiator). I have heard that you can use velcro and window screen, but this doesn't seem like the best option.

I appreciate any suggestions.

The billet side mirrors you have, it appears they are fastened by the two screw that attach the deflectors to the hinges. Is that correct ? If not please enlighten me.

Thanks

I own a superformance and mine looks just like a window screen like you have mentioned. Superformance sells them for around$280.00. Your better off going to a lowes or home depot and buying one that fits your opening.

Default Bug/rock screen

I purchased a sheet of ss mesh from Pegassus for my Backdraft, trimmed to size and secured it to the radiator. Cant even tell it is there.

Unfortunately cannot post a pic as I lost all my photos when my computer crashed.

The $35 price sure beats $280. Would the screen fit a superformance radiator opening? How are they mounted... with velcro?

Bill - Please go ahead and post the dimensions of the bug screen so people can see if it will work with their application. $35 is a great price.

The bug screen fits all of our Backdraft's and alot of other manufacturers cobras. I did find out today that #62 SPF was in the shop and the screen would fit inside the opening in the front and go behind the oil cooler. But the bug screen touches the radiator and will not stick with velcro. I'm not sure if they changed the radiator shrouds on the newer SPF's or not. I guess I will have to come up with something that will work with all SPF's.

The mirrors are not period correct but if you want something that helps you see better these are the mirrors for you. I have 40 sets or so out on cars now and they love them. The mirrors do attach at the two set screws on the side deflector. These fit every model I have installed on. No fabrication as of yet to fit.
