Wow, that is one very compact 90° Vee engine (height-wise, at least)!

I think it's outside my budget though

Cheers!

Possibly just a conversation piece for the garage.

This is copied from the auction site write-up.

The piece is currently used as a display item and it is not known if any of the original internals are present.

Yes, it's probably best used as a coffee table.

Look at the exhaust headers. Makes the GT40 look simple.

I always liked the sound of a Ferrari V12. But the sound of a 20K RPM V8 has to be even better.

I kinda doubt it would actually fit width-wise in a Cobra. But more than one have squoze a Cammer in one.

If you look at the front of the engine, all the cam drive, oil pump. water pump and other accessory drive hardware is missing. Additinally there is no crank snout or flywheel flange visible which probably means the entire rotating assembly is missing. I suspect it is a block, heads and headers. It would be a good bet the heads are empty castings.

Stil in all, a very impressive coffee table...

Appears that it would need 20k rpm as early figures showed 720 bhp but torque at merely 220 lb ft

Cheers!
Glen

Definitely an awesome piece of garage art or man cave furniture! For the Cobra though, I'm thinking more along the lines of this that was further down the page.

Hood clearance might be an issue though and probably a heavier set of front springs...
