That's the old "I-Squared" version 2 power unit. Chris patented the design I think, and it's latest reincarnation is the ISIS box products:

I have the original box, which is rather bulky by comparison but so far, no problems after 7000 miles. Very happy with how this system works. Only wished ISIS was around 4 years ago!!!

ICBomber, I would love to swing by to see your ffr. I live near by in sothern albany county. My wife is from your neck of the woods on New Road. We visited ffr 5years ago when I wanted the spyder. That idea fizzeled when I was reading unhappy posts about backorder after backorder and so on. So now Im back to the original plan of a cobra and looking for some advice. Kevin

Kevin,

You are more than welcomed to come over and see my build, hopefully it will be going out to paint shortly (BRG w/silver stripes, so look for more build updates soon) but I have another buddy close by that is "building" a FFR Mark III. I was a slow builder, so back-orders were not a problem with my build. The FFR kit still requires some "tweaking" to make somethings fit right but in hindsight it was part of the fun!

BTW I have been keeping a list of all Cobra owners/builders in the Albany, NY area, (over 20) so when you begin your build there will be plenty of help/advice!

Build Update 3-13-10

Body is off for paint! I met another local FFR builder and he and buddy are taking care of the body/paint work for me and at a price that can't be beat. Figure they will be done within 6 weeks. The paint color will be Jaguar Racing Green with Mazda Silver Frost stripes.

Going with a "rivet" on hood scoop.

Since the body is off, I took the time to add "Whitby's" passenger's foot-box extension

More to follow!

Malachite Green/jaguar green, great choice for color. Mine was originally that color, wish I would have kept it.

Still going strong! 11/11/12

I stopped along the way to Kent, CT and snapped a few shots at an abandon stone house.

Met up with 5 other Cobra owners and went for a nice little drive in Northwest CT & Southwest MA.

Great Day!
