That's a good place to start. Diligently check your local paper every weekend. That's where I ended up getting mine. I had budget 25k and end up paying 27k.

I've always wanted one but somehow have seemed to get off track within other passions. I had a 68 Mustang Fastback 428 Cobrajet with all the Shelby body parts added which means I'm partial to big blocks but a 289/302 is fine too. Now I think it's time for the real deal (or almost real as it may be). I'd especially like some advice as to what to look for, what kits may be preferable and why. Not looking to show or compete. Just want to drive around town turning heads. If it's possible I'd prefer something that is not a maintenance nightmare. So the 5.0 kit I hear about may be what I want. Just not sure yet.
