Another SPF
This is the other car for sale. My only involvement is that I might join them in acquiring an aluminum car myself!

SPF 760
An offer has been placed on SPF 760 and the sale is in negotiations, so the owner has requested that the pending sale be posted. TURK |
I have been asked to update this thread by Dan, to say the following.
"just learned that the potential buyers cardiologist nixed the final purchase stating that his by-pass surgery was successful and he really didn't need to meet the Superformance challenge to test it's longevity." I guess that means the car is still for sale. TURK |
Question
|
Hey guys,
Here is an update on this car. "Please add that Eagle rods, a new crank and several engine modifications are scheduled to be completed at Performance Engineering in Ross, Ohio within the next two weeks, so the SPF will be available to be seen in Ross. After last weekend's Superformance Club Owners Forum gathering at Dynamic, the fever to improve better to best, bit and Eric at Performance has new parts on order." HIQ It is a very long story, and a search on the names may explain it better than anyone else can. We all have our biases as to what happened. Maybe one day we will look back and laugh at it all. Cobish I am NOT a broker for them. I am simply listing their cars in here for them. Since they are banned I would be reluctant to post their opinions and politics on their behalf. That would be circumventing the system. Since they were not banned for the type of car they owned, I didn't see any harm in helping them sell their cars. After all this place does have great exposure. With the proceeds, they plan on getting a Kirkham or an CSX from Shelby. Since they are still trying to stay within the brotherhood of Cobraphiles, I thought I would help them out a little. NOT a broker!! If there is any objection, I dont mind killing the ads. After all, someone may want the cars. It would be helping them as much as helping the Semkos. TURK |
Build Update
Eric at Performance Engineering in Ross, Ohio has the engine out of the cobra and will be installing the new I-beam Eagle rods and updates this week. Eric has some interesting ideas on squeezing some more ponies out and will be working some magical surprises. To the gentleman that was interested in swapping the BMW Z8....sorry.

IS THIS CAR STILL FOR SALE ???
I just saw Semko's car in Ross, and both Eric and the guys at Dynamic told me the car was NOT for sale.
Is car really for sale or what ??? |
Tom in Cincinnati,
There's a very interesting story behind the man and his car. Why don't you call him directly?..... |
Thanks Turk!
Turk, Thanks for posting this thread for me while I was on sabbatical.
The cobra is currently at Performance Engineering in Ross, Ohio having several updates including new pistons, Eagle rods, new crank, springs, cam and Canton pan among other things. Eric has promised some extra surprises in the build that will once again reveal his talents. The good news is that all of the updates will be completed this week, the bad news is that with all the enhancements, the cobra is no longer for sale. Thanks to all that inquired. |
Accolades to Eric at Performance Engineering!
We just returned from Dynamic and Performance Engineering with our cobra. Eric at Performance Engineering did an excellent rebuild providing significantly more torque and horsepower while Mike and Mark at Dynamic tightened the Wilwoods with new clips and rebalanced everything. All of these gentlemen are to be commended for their fine work and customer dedication. The new cam and improvements have created an entirely new Superformance feel. Thanks guys, we really appreciate your talents.
Now does anyone have a good remedy for Sue's whiplash from the acceleration?;) |
Glad To Hear The Red Beauty Is Back Home !!!
Dan,
I saw your red beauty on the lift the other day, all buttoned up and ready to go. She was beckoning for you, Dan. Glad to hear that Eric and company did a fine job for you. I know he will do the same for me and my SPF, as well. Regarding Sue and her "whiplash"....well, tell her that these beasts can be corralled just so long. Your red beauty was exercising her "new heart." The whiplash was not intentional, I'm sure. In any event, tell her to take two aspirin and see YOU in the morning (I've always wanted to say that !!!). Regards to you and yours, Tom, aka Captain Galaxy |
Terry,
The cam spec's changed from a 230/236 to a 274/274 which changed the entire sound of the engine. The new Race Demon with the mechanical secondaries rather than the Holley 750 with the vacuum secondaries, made a significant difference. It does require some light feathering of the accelerator during the initial start up because it doesn't have the electric choke but the performance is well worth the extra few start up seconds!;) |
Hey guys,
Attempting to keep the "Cobras For Sale" area as pure and free of our normal funning, I have moved some of the posts that has very little to nothing to do with the sale of this car,to the Lounge. Carry on to your hearts content in there. The reason is obvious, this is probably one of the first places most newcomers, who may be looking for a car to buy look. They may or may not know some of our kidding as being kidding and it stands to take away from someone's attempt to sell their car. In the process of moving some of the posts I realized I myself was guilty of no less than 5 posts that shouldn't have been there. Dan if the car is NOT for sale, please post in here so others will know TURK |
Turk,
Our Superformance IS "For Sale" . Thanks for purifying the thread. |

Mike,
I tried to reply to your questions but your e-mail returned my message as "undeliverable". I changed from a Holley Silver Version 750 double pumper with vacuum secondaries to a new Race Demon 650 with mechanical secondaries because of the decrease in secondary jet lags and an increase in horsepower. The cam was changed to increase the aggressive lope an lower end power. The car has never been on the race track and is used for weekend cruising. Turk, Pat (ERA535), U2 and a few others have seen the car and how it's cared for and will attest to it being well cared for. If you have more questions call or drop me a note. Sorry for the response delay. |
I can vouch for the condition and cleanliness of this car. It is like everything else you have Dan - spotless!
I hope I don't embarrass anyone by saying this, but I caught Dan washing his tools after we used them to fix Turks exhaust leaks. That is the best example I can think of to describe how anal you are about keeping things perfect. BTW -Turk said he would kiss my ass if I fixed the leak - he didn't believe it could be fixed after HE tried - Hey Turk! How's the exhaust leak!:3DSMILE: Pat |
Pat,
Thanks for the compliment and you're right about the tools. Since we enjoy being the chief cook and bottle washers at home as well as at the office, when something breaks and we need an immediate fix, it's really nice to not spend extra time degreasing the hands before the next patient arrives. What flavor did Turk prefer before the kissing commences? That exhaust is tighter than a ducks tail and we even witnessed Turk getting HIS hands dirty!;) |
I am not going to vouch for the car without any payment.
I will vouch for how "anal" Semko is however. The car is als clean as the tools he washed. You'd think we had some kind a disease or something. Correction! I think he had his wife Dr. Sue Semko do the dirty deed. I wonder what these two are like in the operating room. Do you think they also scrub before.......oh never mind. |
Yes, Dan's Car Is Very Clean !!!
I have looked at Dan's car from top to bottom (up on the lift). I can attest that it is very clean. Some nice details, too.
When I first heard about the red with gold stripes, I expected the gold to be very bright and overpowering. However, the gold color is subdued and quite attractive. If SPF-1366 had not come along, I would have made Dan an offer. A very nice car. Tom |
