Question

Please give me your opinion about the quality of the LA Exotic Cobra. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm considering a purchase. I believe the company is out of business and I am especially concerned about any parts that were unique to this manufacturer.

Thank you,
Tom

Tom-

I can't complain about my LA Exotics Cobra wbich I bought used. It's a solid car and seems to be bullet-proof here in the land of pot-hole filled roads.
Parts are not a problem for an LA Exotics Cobra, just contact B&B Manufacturing.

Just joined the club. I have an L.A. Exotics and the previous reply was right on. B&B Cobras is run by Bryan Anderson, who was the previous owner of L.A. Exotics. As I understand, all parts are compatible. Bryan is a great guy to deal with, will provide info, etc. When he had L.A. Exotics, I went down and photographed alot of internal workings in order to put mine together. I didn't even get mine from him, but from another owner. I like my body just fine.

I visited "B & B" last year and they have a first class operation. Give Brian a call and he'll be glad to help you. John

Thumbs up

Tom,
I own an LA Exotics cobra and I can't say enough good things about it! It was difficult to build but since completion I have not had any problems. I have been driving the car for five years now and it is very durable and reliable as well as a stellar performer. I know of two other LA Exotics owners who would echo my thoughts as well.

Good Luck,
tommyhorn

I also am happy with my L.A. Exotics. The frame is strong and rigid, the seated position is lower than most, and the fiberglass is smooth and strong. It not the best or most expensive Cobra replicar out there, but its a very good one.

I am another LAE owner that is happy with my choice. I initially bought the LAE kit because it was a local manufacturer. After all the bad things I heard about some kit companies I wanted to be able to get face to face if the need arrised.

I had no problems in assembling the kit, it took 4 1/2 months. I did call LAE on several things but, it was only because I hadn't done one before and had some simple questions.

I have driven the car (40k miles so far) and am very pleased with it. I haven't had any manufacturer (LAE) problems. I did have to replace one wheel bearing, and a windshield or two.

I went for the 'no paint option', in red gel-coat. It has stood up for seven years now and still looks good. I have 30 trophies so far including best in class and best of show.

My car has never been on a trailer. We drive it anywhere and everywhere. We have had it on vacation (1800 miles to Idaho and Wyoming) six times. I have never had it on a track and have no interest in racing, I wanted and got a very reliable street car, the essence of a 427 S/C.

I designed and built a folding convertable top and have survived several severe rain storms and a couple snow fluries. The top is also nice on hot days in the desert to be in shade on long trips.
