Default 2000 Johnex 427SC.......... SOLD 2/17

I hate to do it but here goes......
This is probably one of the most beautifuly finished Johnex cars in the country. It was finished by House of Cobras in 2000 as their showroom model for the DD version of this Canadian factory built replica.
For those that don't know of the Johnex history, it has a CSC (Canadian Stock Car) built chassis as it's foundation. This parimeter space, tube chassis is far superior to the ladder type frames that are used in nearly every other replica. Check out www.houseofcobras.com/johnex.html
Unfortunatly Johnex is no longer in bussiness. Reality is that because of that and it's rarity, it does not have the name recognition that creates the resale value that a comparable Superformance or ERA has (this car will compare to either of those).
So I have to price it accordingly and I have (and then some).
The pictures in my gallary show it in detail.
The rest goes like this......

Professionally built Windsor "427"stroker by Calif Coventry in SoCal....... 500+ hp.
'72 tall deck block..... 4.030 bore
JE custom billit pistons....10:1
Manley steel H-beam rods....... 6.125
Forged steel crank..... 4.17 stroke
Actual displacement..... 425.53 ci

Edelbrock RPM cylinder heads (ported)
Edelbrock RPM intake (port matched)
Manley ss valves
750 cfm Barry Grant Demon carb
Herbert hyd roller cam
Harlin Sharp roller valvetrain

This engine was built with a "cost is no factor" approach. Topshelf parts and attention to detail (head porting and exacting machine work) cost the original owner (I'm second) $17,905.
I have the receipt. The exaust is a ceramic coated Superformance. The orig owner liked it better than the Johnex pipes and paid another $2000 to change it (you see the cost is no factor thing going on here). It has 4,900 miles on it and will be 4 years old in March. It does not burn any oil and sounds and runs like new. Believe me.......There is no mistaking this for a doner or crate motor.

Driveline...... Tremec TKO 5spd/ narrowed 9"Ford/ 3.70 gears/ possi diff/ Bear Prostreet axles.

Suspension...... Front is double a-arm, rear is a unique to Johnex wishbone type 4-link that they called a "modified DeDion link", thus the DD designation. Shocks are Pro adjustable coilovers, front and rear.

This car is a attention getter even is a sea of other replicas. The Glass work and paint are exceptional and the shape and detail is for those of us that perfer the more authentic look. This thing has never seen water and has been absolutely babied, spending most of it's existance in a garage with a cover on it.

It is currently registered in Arizona as a 65 with a historic vehicle plate.

Even in todays "they don't sell for what they used to" market, this is an opportunity to step into the upper level of replica ownership for a doner/ kit car price.

I will sell it to the "right buyer" for ............ $29,900.
That's $40k off the original cost to the "cost is no factor" original owner.

"Right buyer" means....... Cash. No trades. No deposits/ lay aways. No financing available.
If you come to see it, I will take you for a ride. After you give me the selling price.... in full, I will sign over the title (it is clear) and you will be responsible for transporting it.
Not trying to sound less than accommodating but........ "they" come out of the woodwork when something like this goes up for sale and I don't want the drama of entertaining "them". There should be all the pics you need in the gallary. If you are lucky enough to be able to take advantage of this deal...... call me at (520)744-8567.

Thanks..................... Marc Walker
