Jeff, I bought a set of Ford Motorsport valve covers and found a guy who had a set of 428 CJ? valve covers which were cracked, and he cut the centers out and welded in the Cobra Lemans. Cobra Automotove in Ct did it--not cheap but nice! Steve

Guys, this car has been driven very little, NEVER abused, and going to make someone a great car. I did take it to one drivers school, and drove so conservatively that my instructor said I was ready to solo. My son complained that I got passed by a station wagon, but I was there to learn, and not beat the car. It will be going on ebay very soon, but would prefer to sell prior and save the cost of paying a dealer to sell it. The trailer is negotiable, and so is delivery of the car or both. First person with a reasonable offer wins it.

 Steve,
There was a guy on this here site looking for a dark blue FIA with white Lemans stripes a while back when I was selling my car. I had emailed you his address to get in contact with him, did you?

If you did not receive the email or lost it, let me know, I will try to find his address when I have time.

PS - If your car hauler is a 20ft enclosed trailer, I have a buyer for you in Long Island. email me or PM me.

 JM

John, nice to know you are still out there--I didn't get an email. The Cobra was painted by ERA's expert painter Tony in Mass. The motor was built by a local machine shop that does a lot of Fords. ERA did the rear assembly. Cobra Automotive did much of the assembly to the tune of about $10,000. I did some of the early assembly but ran out of time (career change). It has about 3,300 miles on it, all by me. In NY all replicas have to have a VIN assigned and then it is listed as a "custom" based upon the year registered--so this is a "2000 custom", which means it is exempt from all the pollution, etc regs as it is based on a 1969 block. I would imagine that other states allow some other registration name as why would they accept NY's arbitrary name? I have an about 1965 distributor tag from a wreck if someone wanted to put that on and try to register it as a 1965. We could easily work out a way to get the car to DC.

Great car with the right stuff! I'm looking for an FIA but a little too much for me right now.
Who did you deal with at Cobra, Curt?

 Good luck with the sale.
