Shelby Cobra Electric Guitar for sale
Hi all,
I know this isn't really the place to be posting a guitar for sale, but I imagine some of you probably play the guitar, so I'm hoping to find a buyer here.
A limited number of these guitars were made a few years back, by a custom guitar shop in Connecticut, called Jarrett Guitars.
It's a very collectable instrument (expected to go up in value), and also plays and sounds like an absolute dream.
MSRP is $3995. I'm asking $1800. It's in new/mint condition, and has never been gigged with.

I've seen one of these guitars in person but it was behind a counter. I'm sure it may play & sound excellent but it's gotta be a tank, as big as it is(it's solid, right?). I actually am building a hollow body version right now to match my car. Good luck with the sale!

The cobra guitar is actually a semi-hollow body, although it doesn't have the sound holes that most hollow bodies have. It's made of mahogany, and has hollow sound chambers inside the guitar, so the center of the body is solid, but the sides are hollow. This adds to the tone, while cutting down on the weight. I'm not sure exactly how much it weighs, but it feels lighter than my fender strat.

So it's chambered! That would make sense. Sounds like it would be similar in Nature to the Gretsch & Gibson guitars w/o F-holes. Probably sounds awsome! Mahogany is a great wood, light & strong.

Yeah, the tones this thing produces are amazing. Very similar to the Gibson ES series. It also has Gibson 57 Classic pickups. You can split the coils on both pickups with the push\pull volume & tone knobs, allowing you to dial in all sorts of great sounds.
I'm not a collector or a Cobra aficionado, and I honestly thought the guitar looked pretty silly when I first saw it...but once I played it, I was sold! So it's a great instrument for the collector, or the serious player.
Unfortunately, I've gotten myself into a bit of financial trouble, so it has to go.

Yeah, the shape seems a bit odd to me. But then again so does a 427 car  Good luck with the sale

There seems to be several variations on your FIA guitar from the factory brochure. Is this normal or are there important variances in the model within the FIA set and from guitar to guitar of which your guitar is one of them?

There were two different custom guitar shops that made these guitars: Bolin Guitars, and Jarrett Guitars. The one I'm selling was made by Jarrett. There are a few differences, depending on which shop made them. The Bolin made guitars have "289FIA" engraved on the pickup covers, where the Jarrett models do not. The logo in mother of pearl at the 12th fret is different on each model. On the Bolin Model, the pickguard is silver, and on the Jarrett model, the pickguard is clear and is signed by Carroll Shelby. Another big difference is that the Jarrett Model has a Volume and a Tone control knob, where the Bolin model only has a volume control. The Bolin guitars have Seymour Duncan pickups, while the Jarret guitars have Gibson 57 Classic pickups (thes same as you'll find on high end Gibson Les Paul and
ES-335 guitars). Other than that, they Jarrett and Bolin models are the same.
