They were in the process of moving to a new building, I think smaller one, and after talking to Tim, he kept re-assuring me that his business was Ok, and he would gladly accept a down payment/deposit for a roller. Something gave me a bad feeling, so even though I wanted my cobra bad, I decided to wait. As it turned out, a great decision. He closed up shop shortly after, and from what I have read, he stiffed many people for partially completed cars/deposits.
Now, Gunning is running sagebush. Maybe history is repeating itself.

I had the same feeling and wasn't as smart as you. It was a nightmare to finally get a car from them and when I did it was missing at least half the parts I had paid for. Once finished its as good as any replica ever made IMO.

Hello All,
I talked to Tim about a set of FE headers for a project I am starting, he seemed to be a legitimate and honest person. When this thread started I called him and since then sent emails to give him the opportunity to step up and refund Mike's money and put this issue to rest with all parties getting a positive result.
Unfortunatly Tim has decided to take a turn into the bad history of the Kit car industry from days gone by. Mike, I hope this works out for you and I will be very careful of any business I do with Tim. I know he has had some significant family issues and may be dealing with them.

ZOERA,
I would never speculate on the financial well being of an organization, I believe that this is a case of no follow up and misunderstading the vsibility that comes from a negative cutomer experience.
Tim owes Mike money and that is the only relevant fact, all else is conjecture and heresay. Tim has acknowledged it and has not refunded the payment.
As we all know ten attaboys get wiped out by one Awww ShxT!

I didn't speculate, I asked a question. Usually bankruptcy is public knowledge, listed in the proper US bankruptcy court in the city or district of the filing. This may be the only way this guy can LEGALLY justify stiffing his customer out of his paid-for Cobra body. Shame on him. In this day and age of internet blogs, he'll never live this down. Regardless of his financial status, he does not deserve to be in this business. He STOLE from this customer who paid him in good faith. Attitudes don't count for anything. If he ever wants to continue in this hobby/business, he must make this right.

If you want to buy a sure thing in the Cobra replica market the only thing I can say is buy a used Cobra you can see and touch in person before the first penny is exchanged. You know what you are getting, anything else is a gamble.

Lots of reputable dealers and builders out there. Just because one guy is a deadbeat doesn't mean thay all are. Just gotta do your homework and get some references. Funny though, that other people have had bad experience with this guy in the past.

Hi Larry,
No. Nothing has been settled as of yet.
Am I still on the 'bunk' and 'lack or respect' lists, or have I really given
this guy every chance in the world to make good ?
Thank you for asking,
Mike.

I haven't asked or talked to Tim about it at all, so I don't know the current status of the situation.
There was a dispute over Tim paying a PayPal transaction fee but you asking for the entire amount be refunded, including a fee he paid. Is that correct?

Hey guys, Im not taking sides in this thing, just thought Id ask a question and hope it hasnt been asked already. If the body was already made and in stock why pay a deposit? Why not just take your trailer down there and pick it up?

Hey Michael
I think it was just logistics; Phx to Mass. Mike couldn't go get it.
Tim was going to trailer it himself to Mike originally but they couldn't work out a date when Tim could be there and Mike was home. The transaction was then cancelled before the new ship date was set. I think that's what Tim told me at the time.

3 seperate shipping timeframes were set (by Tim) over the course of 2 months
and all missed. No call, no email. After the third no show is when I put the foot
down on the funding. I'm unemployed. I'm home ALL the time. At worst, I
worked 6 miles from my house....
On the prior post. Of course I expect every penny back. Is that even a question?
Seriously ??

On the issue of shipping, Tim tried to bring the body to you around Aug 15-22 and you told him that would not work because you might be on vaction and not home. You couldn't be sure and he wasn't going to drive five days across the country only to find you gone when he got there. Neither would I in that case. He was trying to save you shipping cost because you didn't like how much a professional shipper charged. I can't comment about other dates because I don't know about those, even if they exisited.
About the PayPal issue, I asked you a question; Is the "issue" over a transaction fee?

Hi Larry,
The information you have been provided by Tim and made available in your
own words on this thread have been incorrect 100% of the time. I am asking
as politely as I possibly can, if you would please refrain from putting yourself
in the middle of this any further. If you have Q's or concerns for personal
discussion or off topic matter, please PM me. I'd be happy to discuss if you like.
Thank you
Mike.

You post on an open forum, a thread to bring attention to an issue you have with a business and when someone defends the business, you ask them to stop.
Unbelieveable.
You have my email from those wheel adapters I gave you. You contact me any time you wish.

This thread appears to have had enough discussion.
About a month ago, I posted on this thread:

For whatever reason, he has chosen not to respond.
LMH knows Gunning and has tried to (apparently) relay on his behalf.
It's pretty clear that's not working.
Thanks
