I noticed you joined ClubCobra April "06"...your first and only post? Hmmm...sounds like someone put you up to this.

I would venture to say if you ever took the time to visit HDR's web site (HDRCoupe.com) and viewed the inventory list of parts associated with building this auto, you would form a different opinion. In short, there is nothing cheep, second rate, or under engineered about this vehicle.

Downshift1:

I have a Don Scott built Classic Roadster along with the 351W engine he built. Don's earned reputation for quality, workmanship and credibility is beyond question. In the Corporate world he would fall into the category of " Exceeds Expectations " and would set the high bar in Jack Welch's GE Performance Management appraisal system.

Don's response offered some excellent/outstanding suggestions......you might want to consider/evaluate the message and proceed accordingly.

My credentials, 45 years as a Manager in a major corporation with the appropiate skill level including problem/conflict resolution and listening.

Don said it - why wait until now to point a finger at a manufacturer for
something you dealt with in 2004? This is 2006, don't forget (especially in
this case) that when you point a finger at someone, you have three more aiming back at you. Something smells funny here.

I'm curious. Do you guys know WHERE Highland Daytona Racing is?

The website shows the Powell, Wyoming location in its heyday, but the place has been closed for some time. I have never seen any activity there - just a lonely yellow Cobra body sitting in one of the garage stalls. There is no phone number listed on the website.

** Location: From HDR web site:

Highland Daytona Racing's Shop, Powell, Wyoming ( In the old firehouse )

http://www.hdrcoupe.com/tour.html

** HDR e-mail

info@hdrcoupe.com

** Contact: Might be that Classic Roadsters II is the " primary " contact, from CR II web site:

http://www.classicroadsters.com/hdr_grandsport.html

" Classic Roadsters II has been granted exclusive rights to market and sell the HDR GranSport Coupe. We've been working with Rick Ellis of HDR to offer a roller version of his turnkey coupe... and today are proud to make available for you a roller version of this legendary automobile "

** Guess on my part, might be the same arrangement as SPF, could have missed on the SPF web site, the factory phone number is not listed, but the Dealer network is identified:

As I posted, the HDR location in Powell, Wyoming has not been open and there hasn't been any signs of activity for quite some time.

If Classic Roadsters II has the "exclusive marketing" rights to the coupe, where is it being manufactured?

Further, the notice says nothing of HDR's Cobra replica.
