				 Decipher data plate for me?
Contemporary plate says"3131" in bottom right. Ford plate says 12J (I think) under date Last edited by ricaltman; 12-03-2019 at 07:44 PM..

Can you get another picture from an angle that doesn't put most of the info in shadows? Flash will wash it out. Try to get natural light straight on.

3431 are the last four on the contemporary tag, should be CCX before that, may be one other number, but even manipulating with photoshop, I am unable to reveal what it may be, if at all. Forget about the Ford "warranty only" door data tag below it as it has nothing to do with the car it is attached to at all.

 | Yes, I looked at the photo before I posted it. First off, the photo is from a seller, I have requested a clearer photo, second, until this morning I didn't know that the mostly blacked out part of the photo is the most important. |

But be reminded that the ford tag is something someone attached because it looked cool. It could just as well have been a serial number plate from a 747. That wouldn't have made it an airplane.

Bill

PS: As a word of caution, I have personally seen two such Contemporary Cobra tags installed on Cobra replicas that were not Contemporary Cobras. Why or how remains a mystery, just like the Ford "Warranty Only" tag that is affixed to the bottom of the Contemporary tag with marine style snaps below it.

12 units away from my cobra. More than likely a late 80s early 90s build. |

				 CC Vin
You would also want to confirm the stamped vin number on the frame just behind the drivers side front wheel just inside the rear upright control arm support. |
