Default Rear brakes on Contemporary

Hi
i am the owner of CCX3100 from 1984, and i am preparing it for the approval here in Denmark ( and its tuff ) i am asking for help with the handbrake /rear brakes, i am informed that that the back end is an jag salisbury and the calipers are Dunlop, i dont know if these calipers are the origionel ones ( se evt pictures ), in the car there is mounted a handle with no connect, can any one tell me if the calipers can be connected to a handbrake system, or i have to change to another model ? , does anyone have pictures from there similar system ?

Regards Knud

There should be a cable connection from the handbrake to the rear brakes. I'm not sure which differential you have or which rear end you have but my contemporary has Gurling rear brakes rather than dunlap's.

Assuming you do have the Salisbury/Jaguar XJ6 handbrake, you can find plenty of pics and info online. (I can't see your pic).

What we found that for inspection/roadworthy we turn the handbrake adjustment screws (big screwdriver!) tight, else they often show no braking results.

Loosen them after the check.
