Thanks everyone. I’ll look at the Avon and Cooper Cobras. I know Coppers are easy to find, the Avons seem to be harder to find in these sizes. Not going to race but like to have the best quality tire under this car.

Don't let my current location trick you.....For your neck of the woods, around Bear Mountain, and up in to the Catskills, and even the back roads westward towards Ithaca/Syracuse/Watkins Glen and various lakes, the Cooper Cobras will be far more tire than you will ever need. Headed out to 95/87/287, the same.

Default Cooper Cobras or M/T ST

Last summer I bought four M/T ST tires. I posted this single post thread on mounting tips should you have pin drive wheels or large brakes Mounting & Balancing New Mickey Thompsons on Pin Drive Wheels
Now, I have been told the Cooper Cobras and M/T ST tires are really the same. I have also been told that the rubber is slightly different and that M/T rubber is more suitable for a 2500 lb. high horsepower car. You can find those threads and posts on CC pretty easily with a search. Maybe it's BS; I don't really know for sure. In the limited driving time I've had I do like the M/T ST tires and I do a bit of high spirited driving. But, I'm not Morris and I don't need Avons. In fact, every year I get closer to 70 I seem to hit 70 in the Cobra less often (not counting interestate driving). You will enjoy the Cooper Cobras or M/T STs. They are really a nice tire for the "high spirited," but not big-time racer, Cobra owner.
