Question Manufacturing year

I wonder if any of our more knowing members have a way to at least roughly pin point the year of Contemporary manufacture and shipping? Is there a record of assembly or ship dates on file any where?

Jeff

CCX made cars from ~1980 thru 1997. Early cars have a stamped date on the frame behind the left lower a-arm. Some cars have a CCX# and thereofore approximate DOM can be pulled from CCX#'s comparatively speeking.

There is also a body# under the dash on later cars.

My car is 3209 and was made about mid 1987. Don't know if that helps or not, but it's fun to know..

Mine is 3155 and was reportably made in 85 and first registered in 86, so that fits. I wonder how many of the early cars have survived.

Jeff,

There are many early cars out there. Mine is a 1982 DOB and was first registered 1985.

On early cars the # is stamped on the drivers side 4" frame rail just above
the lower control arm as was stated above. The stamping on mine is
072082 which equals July 20 1982.

Jeff: Mine was built in late 1996, fairly late in the game. Rich
