Turn signals
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me. All four turn signals work normally. When I turn on the headlights, None of the turn signals flash except the right rear. Any Ideas?

turn signals
Jeff, The first thing to do is check all your grounds for the lights.
There is a black box, (at least on mine) mounted under the dash that
controls the current to the turn signals lights. It is designed to work
the turn signal, and brake light on a single circuit. If all the lights
come on and only one flashes, I would suspect this signal flasher box.
Check for power going into the box, and if you only have one circuit
working coming out of the box. I would replace it. I believe that you
are able to pick one up from a towing supply outlet. U Haul. It will
be a flasher control for a single circuit brake and turn signal bulb system.
This unit allows the bulb to flash while your foot is on the brake pedal
indicating the way you wish to turn.
There are two flasher control units. One works with a single bulb brake
light and turn singal. The other with seperate brake light bulb, and turn
signal bulbs. Just wire in the box per directions, and you will be ready
to go.
Good luck
Don

Don;
Good information that I am going to try. On my setup, everything electrical works, EXCEPT my turn signals and its been driving me nuts...I have an older Contemporary car - what does a diverter box do? This sucker is sealed...
I'm going back to hand signals...George

Flashers
George,
My CCX turn signals drove me crazy (intermittent) until I isolated it to the trailer converter box. I ended up opening the box and replaced one of the relays inside. They are standard relays and are available at Radio shack for little $$$. I chose to replace the relay rather than the entire box in order to maintain the proper wiring and color coding for any subsequent owners who might need to trouble shoot.

Flashers
Another thing....the turn signals are sensitive to the type of flasher used. The CCX instructions recommend an Ideal #550 flasher. Since your turn signals work until the headlights are on, I would suspect the flasher. I vaguely remember a thread about this in Clubcobra in the past. you might want to search.

Ray - thanks for the information on the trailer box - I haven't opened it, but I will check it out.
I take it that you have the original written/typed wiring info and color coding that Contemporary provided in their manuals, correct?
Although my headlights are on with no problem, I will follow up on the flasher to make sure I have the right flasher.

Problem solved. Previous owner jambed the wrong bulbs in the front turn signals. It was shorting out. Replaced the sockets and put in a new brake witch and seems to be good to go. Thanks for the advise guys.
