CCX Registry
Hi:
I'm sure I'm missing any previous threads, but I'd sure like to register my "new" Contemporary in the CCX Registry. Any links would be much appreciated.
The car is due to be delivered late this weekend or early next week, so I'll try to get some fotos posted after driving around a little :-).
Many thanks in advance.
Kirk

KIrk, Welcome to the brotherhood of the best damned replicar available. Jeff Gagnon has been running things and has a psuedo registry going. You'll find him on this forum under the handle 1985 CCX. Drop him an email and he'll ask you more questions that you thought possible and put you in touch with lots of other CCX owners.

Hi Dan:
Thanks for the post. I'll give him a shout, and thanks for the CCX endorsement. I saw this one come up and decided now was the time.
Judging by the S/N, its an early CCX and should be very close to an original which is what I was looking for anyways. Being an older replica, its not perfect but should be a very nice platform for long term driving, upgrades, and even restoration.
Besides, its red like yours, very similar configuration but not as nice. Its due to be delivered in a couple of days and I'm telling you the anticipation factor is running at warp speed. I'll post some fotos after arrival.
Thanks again.

Kirk, smart man, bought a Contemporary and want to join the registry!
It's a great resource for parts, buying, selling, tech tips etc.
Welcome aboard, Jeff will probably see this at lunchtime.

I am certainly a creature of habit as it is lunch here in NH, thanks for the kind words guys.
At one time I was trying to actually make an official CCX Registry with each owner allowed a page to post pictures, details, and anything else they wanted to tell about their CCX. As we got larger emailing became much harder so I opted for an offline email contact. Shortly after that Club Cobra was kind enough to give us our own forum and gallery within their website.
So as it now stands we have:
1) Offline email access to all CCX owners who want to participate
2) Gallery within CC
3) Open forum within CC
All these together make a powerful tool for tech help, sales support, and anything CCX.....
Like any good Cobra owner I spend more time in or under the car than I do making a true registry. If there are enough folks that want a true registry we might want to either adopt a bored retired participant or appoint a point-man for the time consuming task of updating and upkeep of a true blue Registry? I have a good starting point just need help.
As a group we can all keep the Legendary CCX cars at the forefront of the hobby.

Hi Everyone:
Many thanks for the posts. The car (CCX-3057) is due to arrive either this Sunday or Monday, and I'm really trying to wait patiently.
Anyways, I'll post some fotos after getting some driving in.
Thanks again.

Well Kirk, It looks like we are cousins of the same generation. Since the untimely death of CCX 3209, I've been the proud owner of CCX 3069. So us old timers will just hang in there and enjoy our vehicles. Welcome.

Hi Dan:
Just had CCX3057 dropped off last evening, and is this ever nice. I'm still pinching myself. Overall, its in pretty good shape for its age but needs a good deal of TLC.
I posted some initial photos in the Member's Gallery, and thanks for everyone's welcome so far.

Hey Kirk,
Welcome to the world of CCX. Took a look at your pictures...sweet looking ride. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine. I smile every time I look at it.

Kirk, If you were to look at my car and then your car, you would swear that they are related.. Great color for a Cobra.. Rangoon Red if anyone should ask.

Hi Dan:
Thanks for the note. CCX 3069 and CCX 3057 are pretty close. I'm not sure what chronological info you might have on yours but I'd appreciate any info available. Feel free to reply to my personal email. All I know is mine has a 1989 sticker from somewhere on the lower left windscreen. I'm guessing it was built much earlier.
I had it up on blocks yesterday for a first inspection and came away very impressed with the original design/construction and overall condition save some details, wiring, small engine oil leak, and all. Looks like the XKE stock F/S/brakes. Nice new Aldan coilovers in back and the original Konis are in the trunk.
After the inspection I'll be working on engine tuning (running rich) and sorting out the F/S alignment/geometry and improving brake feel without adding lots of new parts.
I'll also be doing a rewire/possible reinstrumenting sometime here soon. The fun begins.
