Can Anyone Explain To Me What Exactly Is In The Side Pipe Of The Orginal Contemporay Cobras. Mine On The Driver Side Rattles Like Crazy Until It Gets Hot. Then It Is Fine. I Don't Know What's Actually Inside That Could Make It Rattle. Some Type Of Baffle But I Don't Understand. Is There A Way To Fix It? Thanks Jim.....jimscorvettesandcobras@charter.net
Try to get a look into the side-pipe outlet (may require a small flashlight and mirror). If you see an internal concentric pipe (about 2.25" in diameter), there's probably a bullet-type muffler within the case. Then, it's just a matter of drilling a couple of strategic holes in the case and plug-welding a bridge between the outer case and the muffler.

I have cut a few side pipes apart. I have a picture of one. You have a baffle tube inside that may be loose.
Maybe the picture will help you understand strictlypersonl advise. It's an easy fix. Drill on the back side if you have ceramic or chrome. Use high temp silver paint to touch up the weld.
