Default Big brake conversion

Has anyone done a Wilwood big brake conversion 12.19" on a Contemporary Cobra? If so what rotor hat did you use? Attached is a picture of my front hub, is this what you have?Name: 0908091654.jpg

I just completed a Wilwood brake change. Used 11.75" drilled and slotted rotors with Superlite 1.75" 4 piston calipers. Fitting these inside of 15" Compomotive Halibrand style wheels required my using .500 wheel spacers. The kit I bought (Mustang II) was zero offset, so the additional spacing didn't make my overall width any more than before the change. Performance is excellent.

We have put the Wilwoods on a couple of cars with the solid rotors like yours. I'm just finishing some Wilwood caliper adapters for the Series 3 vented rotors. The rotors are Brembos and I think can be used on your hubs.

Nick
I want to go with vented rotors. When I called Wilwood they were really no help. As you can see from the picture the rotor attaches to the second flange on the back of the hub by 5 bolts. The problems are that bolt pattern is 5x4.25, they have 4.5",4.75" and 5" the second problem is the center hole is 3.25" and they only go to 3.06".

I'm making the brackets to put the Wilwood calipers on the Jag vented rotors. I think the rotors are readily available XJ6 and will fit your set up. We'll compare what you have with what I have here. I have made rotor hats as well as caliper brackets to get from here to there. Check my parts page. This set up uses an adapter from Jag hub to Wilwood rotor http://www.classicjaguar.com/eng_brake.htm
