Default Comp style Contemporary tank

I have a few pics of the latest Contemporary gas tank. It's modelled after the CSX comp tanks I've been building but bolts right into a CCX.

Trying a pic with my coaches help......

It has the shape of the originals where it kicks out behind the rear wheels, it's all beaded, and baffled as all my tanks are. I also managed to include the little ice cream cones for bolt removal on the suspension. Of course these are spaced for Jag bolts now

Looks good!
Funny, I was thinking of building something similar for my Hurricane. Trying to copy an original trunk liner (or rather something like the original) and need the tank to slope like that.

Jeff is right (as usual). That is sweet. How much would you charge me.. not him... to make one for may car, Nick? Is that the tank you were discussing in the other thread?

To answer a couple more questions I've received it is made from 0.090" 5052 marine grade aluminum. I could price it in stainless if you are interested. That is the first one pictured and we have to still test fit it to a car. It will be about $1200 for the tank and $175 for original style straps and hangers. Crating costs are about $150 and shipping on top of that. I would be interested in working with some other frames (Larry) that would fit that style of tank. You can increase capacity and the look is very period. I'll get some more pics.

I've had a couple of dimension inquiries so to give an idea for other applications. 21.25" bottom length, 23.25" top length, 10.5" deep at the front, 3.25" at the back, 37.75" wide at the ends. The wings out the side I'll measure location and size of. I took my CSX Comp tank program and made it into this CCX tank hence the same basic shape and appearance. I can make it look like this with dimensions to fit any brand.

I am currently restoring my ccx and have been considering using your tank. They now make the Camaro tank in Stainless steel. How many gallons does your tank hold. Is the tank visible looking from the back(is the tank lower than the Camaro)? Any thoughts about tank damage from rocks thrown at the tank extensions on the sides of the tank? Have you had any leaks? Do you use a sloshing sealer inside of the tank? Mickmate your tanks look great.
How effective are you brakes? Mine suck and I would like to find a tried and true setup that works with a parts list of materials needed.

Wow Ricks put his prices up huh. That is a nice looking tank but the filler needs to be capped off and relocated for a CCX. It is also only 17 gal which aint much in a single digit MPG car. My stock replacement CCX tank is about 24, I think the Comp tank is in the low 30's but I'll have to redo the math on that. The last picture shows it does hang down a bit under the back. That looks original, makes a statement and shows it off a little but it could be raised some. The CSX cars use an inner fender in front of the extensions. I recommend the same in a CCX. I did have one tank leak around a fuel fitting. I made him a replacement tank, drove 12 hours to his house, put the replacement in for him and made him happy. The tanks are all air tested 3 times in 3 different positions with 4 psi. My tanks are built with baffles inside to stop sloshing and have a trap around the pickups to keep fuel at them.

This is looking at the fuel pickup with the top off the tank, it has a trap around it and a baffle beside it.
Brakes are another subject I'll post a link for you on.

In case you didn't pick up on it the tank was designed by the ever so subtle Jeff, unfortunately it wasn't made until after he sold his CCX.
