Interesting comments all guys, but the point is..and I agree with the present owner completely...not to restore it to look like all the other five beautifully restored examples, but to save what originality there is. The trouble is that much of the visual impression is completely wrong (if you are trying to work back to that '64 period) This being the first coupe and the one with most history IS completely different than the other five which had their bodies built in Modena. CSX 2287 is the original California built proto that won at Sebring and THAT should be the "point in time" to which it's restored. There are only a few top Cobra guys that really understand what that level of restoration should be. They'd never make the gauche mistake of overdoing the car. Leaving it as it is only confuses those who never saw it as it was and the longer this continues the farther away we get from those who could save it. Badger
