Default Superformance Daytona Coupe Install Kit

I am just getting into the board as a new member and wanted some opinions on install kits for a Superformance Daytona Couple. I will probably receive chassis number 140 sometime in late September. I plan on a 351 W block stroked to 427 with the Roush injection system. I plan also to use a TKO 600 with .82 fifth gear. I plan to do the install myself.

I have found three places that advertise an install kit for the coupe.

1) Dynamic

2) Olthoff Racing

3) Coupe Connection

My question is does anyone have experience/recommendations relative to these or any other install kit producers?

Thanks in advance,
Terry L. Hibbard

Terry , I suspect they are all pretty much the same. I do know Oltoff has probably done more installations than anyone else, so his product is likely to be complete. By the way, I now have SPO 55 and am enjoying it very much. I would agree with your choice of trannies and the .82 fifth. I rarely use 6th in mine as it is a .62 or so and very tall

Terry,

I have coupe 88 with a Keith Craft 427w (carbureted) and the TKO600 with the .82. Very happy with the drivetrain. 80 mph cruise is at about 2600 RPM. I purchased the Olthoff install kit, but ended up using only about half to 70% of it, mainly due to some customization I did, so you may want to check with others.
I have met Scottie from Coupe Connection and know Brad Berger (CoupeCrazy on this site), who has coupe 49 with a lot of Scottie's upgrades. I'm not sure if Scottie's kit is all the upgrades or if he does something basic. Some of this may depend on whether you plan to do a basic install or do some upgrades at the same time.

Check with Woodz on this site as he is familiar with Dynamic's kit.

Good luck and great decision on the coupe!!!

Doug

Since you are new here you may want to do a search on 408 vs. 427w there are many opinions.

Hi Terry,
I did my own install of a Roush 427 DFI and a TKO600 with 0.82 5th using the Olthoff DFI coupe install kit. I found the Olthoff kit to be just about 100% complete down to nuts, bolts and washers. You have to specify your engine as the throttle arrangement is different for a carburetored engine than the DFI engine and the drive shaft is different (slightly longer) for the five speed than the longer "standard" six speed box with its slightly shorter drive shaft. Dennis probably does have more install experience than anyone else and helped develop the car to begin with so you can't go wrong with his kit. Dennis was also a great help with information when I needed it. This doesn't mean the other kits are not as good or even better, I only know about the Olthoff kit.
Good luck and regards,
Ron Weingart
