Coupe replica choice/options
As far as I know:
Shell Valley Lescher motorsport (ex upstate) Kirkham FFR BA daytona DDcobra Mr Bruce daytonas' highland daytona Does anyone know which car was used for the molds of the various kits? what picking order as far as general quality of the kits? I know most of the quality is down to the builder but generally speaking? |
Add Mr Bruce to your list. Completely made from scratch, starting with a wood body buck. All custom, built to your specs.
|
You can add Highland Daytona Racing to your list. They advertise on here and make a great Coupe either a race version or street version.

highland daytona website is down for a while, are they still in business?
|
|
superformance is out of my price range unfortunately and maybe a bit too mordern for me too.
|
I don't know if Highland Daytona is still in business. the last time I looked at their site was about a year ago and they had some very nice cars. I talked to a man who went over and looked at them and he really wanted one but got laid off shortly after his trip over there.

Ludo,
Give B&B a Call. They are building me a Coupe that is set up for Racing, They are refering to it as the HCS Coupe (Harlan Competition Series Coupe). I have some pictures in my gallery you can look at. I plan on going back to take some more pictures March 7, 2009. |
Ludo, there also appears to be another new player in the game ---- www.daytonacoupe.com --- dont know anything about them myself, just found the website while looking for some other data recently.
|
Lesher makes an absolutely GORGEOUS coupe. The B&B / Harlan coupe looks great as well, especially if you get them to put the IRS in that should be there, it looks top of the line as well. You can't go wrong with either of these.
|
IRS is an option for the HCS or the B&B Street Coupe. I should have more pictures soon. Engine is being dyno'd next week and things are really starting to come together.

Lesher Motorsports
I have tried to call and email Lesher Motorsports to get some more information and I am not getting anywhere. FFR has stopped making there coupe until 2010, and this will be in a limited number. If the B&B would be built in an IRS rear end, I would really look at the Clois car.

Ludo ,
The Superformance GT40 may be a bit pricey to some people , but for what you spend on a Superformance GT40 and get in return is the closest version of the GT40 as you'll ever get without buying an Original , and they are very interchangable with Originals and carry Continuation P series #'s . SFcobra, we are talking about cobra daytona coupe ;)
I'va been trying lesher as well for a while after a friend told me I had to talk to them. |
Thanks
Ludo if you can get ahold of them let me know. I am also in there coupe. I tried the daytonacoupe.net and there website is not working properly. I had a B&B Roster so they make a very good product. Again just wish the IRS was an option.

If you can't do a McCluskey or a KMS Coupe go with Lesher.

Saw an anouncement sometime back that Shelby was going to start offering an aluminum bodied coupe as well. Not sure when the Kirkham coupe will be available, perhaps they'll be getting back to it soon.
Although the latest lawsuit from Shelby may knock everyone out of the coupe business. I know it's been said before but now is a good time to be buying a used one, the economy has impacted prices on everything, even original (60's) cars. |
I have a Shell Valley Coupe for sale, PM me for details on a screaming deal.
