Who are these guys? I have never seen this Coupe b4!
Check some of the links to these guys Coupe. Since I have never seen the Coupe I can't attest to how good or bad it is but at least their web page is stellar.

Hmm. Looks like this might be a scammer operation.
Website is very sketchy on details. The address they list in the FAQs is for a mailbox rental in Niagara Falls NY. The websites (daytonacoupe.com and daytoncoupe.net) are registered to a Michigan address, but with an Ontario phone number (??). I googled the phone number and found this: http://dave-ironside.johnex3motorsports.com/. Looks like they've been trying to pass themselves off as being affiliated with Johnex3 Motorsports in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Buyers beware. |
The body shown, appears I believe to be a Shell Valley.

Caution advised
Be very -very carefull---johnex3motorsports.com/.
Looks & sounds very much like their modes operandi. VERY-VERY CAREFULL!!!!!! |
Do you think it is an upstart?
There doesn't seem to be enough information to get a comfortable feeling about dealing with them. I did not find a picture of a completed car. |
I think they pulled the trigger too soon. The website is incredibly incomplete. They need to have a few completed cars under their belt before starting to advertise. I don't know these people, but would give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they just don't understand how small this industry is and how critical our hobbyist can be. This is what I call a false start. My suggestion to them is to go back to the business plan and develop a comprehensive website, build some cars and get them out to the shows. With the countries economy being what it is, I don't know if I admire or feel sorry for all that are starting new businesses. Just my .02 cents. Peace, Darren

thats not a Shell Valley body but it looks close.

I don't think they can legally use the term Daytona Coupe, Shelby is going to be on them like white on rice.

Clois,
I think your sleuthing may have found a new start manufacturer's website while it was still in the development stages and before he has announced the company or product. Of course while this could be a scam it could also be a legit startup that never protected the website from public entry because he didn't think snoops like us would likely find him. I think it is worthwhile watching to see what's next so to speak. This could easily be the beginning efforts of a perfectly legit new start. Most replica manufacturers don't have the 'benefit' of venture funding so they have to do everything on their own nickel. I think it may be worth it to give the guy the benefit of the doubt untill he gives a reason not to. After all, the more healthy manufacturers we have in this game the better it is for all of us. Sadly guys like Lubinsky really poison the well for a lot of good guys who follow, making their start up effort more difficult than it has to be. - just my thoughts ... Ed |
I would like to see a completed car as well as their completed web site.
|
I sent them an email this am requesting additional information. We'll see if they respond
|
This looks like a test site that was published in error. I would suspect those folks know that there are web crawlers and would be smart enough to know a scam would not work. Just an error , imo.
|
No way they can continue business using that name, no way!
|
That site has been up for a while now, If you click on some of the minor bits like chassis to seek further details you get a warning that you are trying to 'steal' info etc etc.
Dont hold your breath waiting for further Info Bill, I sent a request a while back & got zip. The 'profile' drawings are straight out of the model car plans etc. |
The reason info@ doesn't work could be that there is no infrastructure behind the address. ie, don't expect anything bc they don't get the message.
|
As Jac pointed out, that site has been up in that state for approx. 2 years.

HERE are the answers to all your assumptions......nice sleuthing though, watch the video on youtube and your mystery will be completely answered....let's see if you can figure out why the site is incomplete......
YouTube - Daytona Coupe Kit Car Replica/Fiberglass Theft Caught on Video World Wide Composites Daytona Coupe Project ....Jan 16th 2006 Break & Enter Video showing Anthony Delazzari of Central Collision Services and Johnex Motorsports (Johnex Cobras) Mark Galbraith, John Galbraith, Thomas Dafoe and Darryl Wells as his assistants. January 18/2006 ~ The Niagara Falls Review ~ Newspaper A3 article "Five Falls men charged after break-in" "THOROLD - Five Niagara Falls men were arrested following a police sting Monday afternoon. Police stopped the vehicle a short distance away and recovered $28,000 in stolen property. Charged with break and enter and theft are John Galbraith, Mark Galbraith, Daryl Wells, Thomas Dafoe and Anthony Delazzari. Yes he is.
Having had dealings with him in the past, this information does not come as a surprise. What he was convicted of is exactly what my impression of him is. RUN-RUN-RUN from this person. J.M.O. Craig P.S. I realize this is a old posting resurrected, but when it involves this ( " gentleman "?) one cannot miss a opportunity to forewarn potential buyers. |
Glad I got my SPF daytona ! -- that body looks too scary.
