Default NOLA Motorsports Park??

Just came across the new NOLA Motorsports Park (www.nolamotor.com) near New Orleans. Anyone been over there to take a look-see? Appears paving of the north track (south track built in the coming months I guess) was completed about 3 weeks prior.

Haven't been there, yet, but have some friends that are already members....Things seem to be progressing at a fast pace these last few months, they hope to be open for business in Jan. 2012.....

BTW: if you run the "long" course, you'd better have some serious motor under the hood as the front straight will be 5,000 feet long!!!!!!!!!!!!Judging from what I've seen, you would get on the straight at anywhere from 50 to 70mph, then you'd have almost one mile to stretch the legs on your engine...

David,

Not to criticize your reply above, but shouldn't you have mentioned something about brakes too

Yep, that might help once you get to the end of the straight!!!!!!!
But as one guy told me, "we don't need no stinkin brakes".....

I can't imagine running on a straight that long. At NPR, I get on the 1900 foot long front straight at about 50 mph and hit about 135mph (6,500 rpms) when it's time to let off and hit the brakes.....top running cars in GT class are regularly hitting 160mph on this same straight!!!!!!!!!....I don't have near enough motor/gearing to run a 5000 foot straight!!!!!!!!!

David, we are looking at the north course March 10-11, 2012 as the long course (north and south tracks combined) won't be available in 2012 until the south course is completed. Maybe long course in 2013.

ROFL, ROFL. Front straight on the south (2.75 mile configuration) is 1,900 feet. Long enough for me.
