You still need help on Friday? If so let me know and I'll take the day off to help set up.

Hey everyone! Is there room for another Cobra? I finally got the car tuned and boy does it run good. Now I need to see if it will turn as well as it accelerates.:D In final tune it only made a little more power than at the Roundup. Made 532 hp and 580 torque....at the wheels, of course. Do the math Ruble. .85 divided into 532,....well anyway.
I was thinking about coming down and at the very minimum, going fast on the straight sections. Later, Mike |
Mike,
I will not be in Gainesville but I'm putting together a hardtop for my Cobra. With this damn EL Nino weather that is suppose to come every ten years, and it's back in less than five. I thought Ed had a Cobra show going someplace this past week with all the rain. I was hopeing for 10 years without rain, I'm ready to pour yards of green concrete. You can always plant new trees. I hope everyone has a great and DRY time, stay safe. Dan |
Mike
Yes we have room for you to see how fast you can go in a straight line but you will have to turn sooner or later. :) Here is an update on deposits Jim Pomroy-Ford Mustang Lorrie Pomroy-Faster Ford Mustang :D Tom Powell-Everette Morrison Mike Iodice-Everette Morrison Chester Littlefield-Backdraft Debbie Littlefield-Backdraft Chris Allen-FFR Cooley Hobdy-SPF Ed Kamptner-FFR Jerry Miller-SPF Tom Jones-FFR Ed Boothman-Classic Roadster Dave Niblett-Unique 427 Armondo Lopez-Backdraft Ruble Moore-Hunter That makes 15 drivers and 14 cars(the littlefields share the backdraft) so we have room for Mike Ritter P.S. for all you lurkers out there with performance cars(no race only cars) you are welcome to crash our party. Any of you have a buddy with a Corvette or Viper that he thinks is all that? Tell him to bring it on. We try to limit it to about 20 to 24 cars so we all get our money worth. I got about seven 5 lap sessons the last time I ran this track. That works out to less than $3.50 per lap or put another way less than the ticket you will get running your Cobra like this on the street. I will count on Mike so that makes 16 drivers so far. That leaves room for about 6 to 8 drivers. For all of you "Pit Crew" members who are wanting to see a bunch of great people going fast in a Cobra here is you chance. Now we cannot have an crowd so we should limit it to about 5 or 6 pit crew per car. I have room for at least 5. DO NOT FORGET THE MANDITORY DRIVERS MEETING AT 9:00 FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE HOTEL. The reason for this is to get all the monies paid and the tech inspections out of the way so we can spend more time on the track and abuse our cars more. **) There are not a lot of rules but the car must be: street legal open top cars must have a functional roll bar(attached to frame not just fiberglass) no fluids leaking battery tied down street legal tires(DOT "R" compounds ok) No loose wheels seat belts Helmet(You can borrow mine) Long pants I probably forgot something but Jim Pomroy is the tech guy. I believe we are allowed to have a passinger but they need a helmet and seat belts. No you cannot charge the pit crew members for rides but you can make them wash your car.:3DSMILE: |
aumoore
Please count me in the 'pit crew members' list. This will be my first chance to see Cobras. A few questions BTW: 1- What is the address of the track? I live in Gainesville, but never been there. 2- Do you want me to tape the event or not? I don't want to carry my camcorder if I won't use it. |

Hotel in Gainesville....
If you have not made your hotel
reservation at the Gainesville Hampton, be advised that they will only block DSCC rooms and rates until Jan. 3rd. Sooooo if you want a confirmed room at the DSCC club rate, my advice is to book it now. If not, you might be "out in the cold." I wish I could join you all....have fun! |

Still need radios?
An earlier post on this thread said we need radios. I recently acquired a pair of Motorola 14 channel / 38 code radios. Are these the kind we need? If so, I'll bring them.
