Default Another new snake for '03

"Patience is a virtue..."
"Good things come to those who wait"
"Rome wasn't built in a day"
"A new day will dawn for those who stand long"...(LedZeppelin??)

These and other similar famous quotes were definitely not penned by someone who just ordered a Cobra!!! (but maybe by their wife!!)

The garage is cleaned out and two plastic chairs sit like a driver and passenger seat...waiting. Out of all the prep so far the cool thing (well, warm actually) was when my basement heater was malfunctioning, I got the guy who fixed it to put in a few vents to the garage.

(Randy, after you work on your car, you can come over and warm up.)

Default Heated Garage

Chill,

Remember heat makes the heart grow fainter

I may clean out the living room and use it.

Too much time on the car and I'll probably have the bedroom as well.

While I had the space, I was refinishing a bed in the garage.. The sight of a bed in there seemed too ominous, so I finished it up quickly so Laura wouldn't get any ideas!!!

If you think it's bad now, wait till you have the chassis in the garage and you're waiting for the painter! Now that's a lesson in patience management!

It's worth the wait, though.

...bed in the garage...

I have a bed in our garage. The sight of my Cobra in view is better than VIAGRA. vroom vroom, zoom zoom

I may have Southern Automotive build me two display big blocks and use them as night stands.

Gee what a great idea a couple of big blocks for nite stands!! I think Deborah would have thought twice before draging me to the minister had i had thought of that!! I thought shotgun shell reloading equipment in the living room would suffice. But it didn't

The Cobra really is a replacement for Viagara. Our kid's conception date was July 12... that's the same day I brought the Cobra home from Unique... well, what a coincidence.

Viagara is cheaper! But a Cobra is more sexy for both man and woman. It is better for both but is costs more!!

Congrats Chill. I'll join the Cobra team in '03 if Home Depot gets back to 33(I can't F'N believe that HD at 33 seems like wishful thinkin'). I just can't bring myself to spend the $$ on a toy when I'm 120k down.

I just decided "screw the market and my position" and ordered a Unique with chill. We will be building them in Feb and Mar - stay in touch you can watch or give us a hand.

Hey Southernfried,

A little off topic, but you might want to watch HD's stock really close.

HD is in a fast moving expansion mode and doing so on cash flow. Some of us in the building products industry, expect that when they run out of ability to expand, they will do what others have done in similar circumstances. They will cave in like a house of cards.

I don't think it will be next week or next month, but if I were you I'd be keeping my eyes and ears peeled.

Just a word to the wise.

Al

GeorgiaSnake, I will be happy to stop by and supervise.

Al, I hope you are wrong on HD, but I will keep my ear to the ground. My main concern with HD is that with their rapid expansion they are cannablizing sales from their existing stores. It seems like there is a HD on every corner. There are 3 HD's that are equidistant from my home.
I have said for years that HD should have a National tool rental chain(they have small rental depts. in some stores, Lowes has affiliated w/ Nation's rent), they should go after the homebuilder market(I am starting to see this now, it's a no brainer), they should have fastfood outlets in stores(I've seen one in their Buckhead store), and they should have a work clothing Dept.
It seems to me that they could easily generate big $$ from those additional revenue streams.
As a builder, I wonder why HD doesn't hire an outside sales staff and get the lion's share of the new home construction market. No lumber yard could compete with HD on price, and HD could ship large orders from central warehouses and send fillin orders(the "biatch" on new construction sales) from their retail stores.

What end of the business are you in?

Jim
