How are we set for flags at Gainesville? I can try to gather some materials to give the cornerworkers something a little bigger and redder to wave than the shop rags we used last time if that would be useful.

Dave,
Debbie Littlefield has made up some colored flags (Red, white, yellow and checkered).
I think we should make sure we have radios and a few stop watches just in case our new system has a bug.
I've tested it already but you never know.

Got Flags
Dave,
Like you I saw a need for improvement. I will be bringing:
1- green
1-checkerd
4-yellow
4-red
These are 24"x30" nylon flags on a dowel rod. I also put together a one page handout on flags for the drivers meeting.

Great,
Thanks.
Now, who do I need to talk to and verify we have two way radios and stop watches?

Flags sound great. I think Dave Niblett bought several radios for the last outing..I can check with him and make sure he's planning to bring them again.
ps. I'll bring plenty of "tire pixie dust" for anyone that needs it

Hey Doc if you beat me, I'll shut it up quick. I am going to load your car in the trailer first, "cause that is the only way you are going to be ahead of me.
BTW Doc have you got a new helmet 'cause that old red one needs to be taken out and burried.
Terry look forward to seeing you again, don't worry there is plenty of room for us novices.

IT'S OK
Ed,
I just heard from the Gainesville Track, and the propane grill is OK, so if anyone would like to use it, I will have it with me. Cooking surface is about 12"x20" so no big sides of beef!!!!
Frank and Armando,
I think Carol and I would like to leave Friday morning so we can miss some of the So. Fl. traffic, and do tech in the evening. We may even try to see her parents on the way at Yehaw Jct. for lunch if we leave early enough.
I'm starting to worry about not having slicks with all of Ed's "Go Fast" Trash Talk. Remember, I'm trying to break this car in easy.

Dave Niblett says that he returned the ones that he got prior to the last event since we didn't use them. So we still need radios.

Terry,
Not to worry about the speeds.
This is a test and tune track only.
We are not racing!!
We split into two groups.
Novice and Experienced.
Based on your times, we pair guys up so they remain spaced evenly on the track.
As far as tires,
I had run on street tires at all the previous events.
Jim had upped the bar and installed a bunch of performance parts prior to the last event and finally beat me.
So this time, I stepped up and purchased my own upgraded suspension parts.
You can run your car at any speed you feel comfortable with.
Dont feel pressured to keep up with those of us who are shooting for "Time Of the Day" (TOD).
Just hjave fun and enjoy your car for what it is.
Since we cannot legally run our cars "as they were meant to be driven" on the street, we look forward to this event to have lots of fun.
Jim and I have been long time rivals at our track events.
This "ribbing" just makes it more exciting for us.

The only change I made was brake pads and alignment. Everything else was the same.

He's alive....
I'm sorry, I forgot....,
the Huge 13" brakes, "R" tires, supercharger and upgraded suspension weren't enough to beat me back in October!
So, it mostly was my mistake for installing the 3 link and not compensating for the increased body roll......
So, are you still coming or are you going use your back as an excuse?

I have two radios but I am slap out of Pixie dust for the tires. I guess I will have to shoot for FTOTDOSTWASE(fastest time of the day on street tires with a small engine)
