Moving to Atlanta?

To all of you in the Deep South, if one were thinking of moving to Atlanta where is a good place to live that is within easy driving distance of downtown Atlanta. (I know that is an oxymoron in Atlanta). Ideal neighborhood would have large lots, large garages and cobra friendly people.
