These must be reserved, by phoning Kathy or Melissa 504-276-4386 and registering first with her, as only registered cars will be allowed these blocked rooms. There should be additional rooms for participants without cars. Kathy and Melissa are our registration coordinators and will be able to answer any questions you may have about the event or accommodations.

This event is being planned in early October due to the usual mild fall climate, with temperatures usually within the 60-70 degree range. There is always a small chance of rain being on the Gulf Coast. We will have plan “B” in place should it rain with some covered parking and covered party areas.

For you “Gear Heads” that just can’t seem to get enough, you can plan to stay around for the adjoining week, Oct 5-12, for “Cruisin’ The Coast” as seen on TV with Dennis Cage. This event attracts over 6000 registered cars from Street Rods, Muscle cars to antiques and more. The streets do get crowded, and the traffic can be slow moving mostly on the main weekend of the 11-12th.

Honestly, with what we have planned, you should be partied out by Sunday morning, and let’s face it, we don’t want to push too much of this macho-horsepower stuff on our lovely spouses, ‘cause then they will want to retaliate and screw up our priorities with some useless purchase like a refrigerator, or another piece of jewelry.(these are documented facts, so take heed)

We look forward to seeing all our Cobra friends, please register now to secure your spot, as we only have a few spots available.

Thanks,

New Orleans Superformance owners and Reed Performance Motorsports

Hey Toy Collector,
Now you know what "S,R,& Roll is all about. :D :D :D
Maybe if y'all talk real nice to "Mr. Doug" or Kathy (reservations) they might let you bring the Kirkham. Maybe even let you bring some of your Ga. buddies. :D :D :D Love to see you there.

Anybody from Fla. going to join in the fun? I'm planning on leaving the Palm Beach area sometime Wed. afternoon to trailer on over. Need to be there in time on Thursday for Flyin' Freddie's ribs. :3DSMILE: Maybe spend Wed. nite in the Panhandle area. Let me know if you care to caravan over.

Don't forget the Keys Kruze and Poker Run the following weekend.

Time to start Rocking

Freddie
and others,
Heard the "old time, get in the mood" song for a trip down to New Orleans on my way to Ft. Lauderdale today.
Remember Gary "US" Bonds and his hit "New Orleans?" It will get you in the mood if nothing else will. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:
Maybe Freddie can down load it and "Hey Little Cobra" to a CD and a few other "oldies"so we can play them in the parking lot while waiting for the ribs. My trailer has a stereo Freddie!!!!!
I wish I would have known you were heading down so soon, I would have Fed-X'd the spare inflatable bed for you.:D You broke the inflatable Goodyear Bimbo on the last trip, so she's still in for repairs.
I'm not going to go to F-1 this year so I'll be coming over from So. Fla., and not thru Memphis, should be there Thursday afternoon. Do you want me to bring the rolling kitchen sink and work counter for the cookout? We are still cooking out on Thursday aren't we?

WB of TN,
We are thinking if you are Unique enough and bring a replacement for the Goodyear Bimbo, it might be OK, best check with Kathy or Melissa per Dream Master's post. He's from your part of the world Freddie; sister's don't count:D then again %/ %/ %/ %/ %/

Geeeeeeeze, I wish I could start to have fun one of these days.:D :D

If you guys or others on I-10 hope to see you.

WBofTN 09-15-2003 03:10 PM

Well, I made my reservations today - Turns out there
will be a handfull of "non-SPF" Cobras going. At least
we will give you SPF guys something to compare and talk
about. I'm just lookin foward to meeting some fellow
Cobra nut with screwed up priorities.
Hopefully most of you will be more sain than the FlyinFreddie.

Freddie: Pls stock the mobile bar w/ Voka tonic - thanx

Done.....Grey Goose, Tonic, and Limes will all be on board! Battery Blender, Tequilla, Triple Sec, and Lime Juice. Single malt scotch...Dalwhinnie, I think. Jack Black. Assorted mixers. Mike's Hard Lemonade...both Lemon and Cranberry. Oh....and Bicardi Citron and Diet Coke for our hosts....

Paaaaaarrrrrr-teeeeey..... As they say in that part of the country "Lassez les Bon Temp Rollez"

Aaaaaaaaaaaiiiii-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....! We gonna party on d'coast, whooooo-eeee!

terry lee 09-17-2003 01:58 PM

Freddie,
Rib Cookout Thur. nite or not?
Don't need the battery blender, we've got power in our trailer. Better yet, I'll bring another blender, now we can have two, and Doug's make three.

Mike,
Sounds like a plan, but it depends on if Freddie is doing ribs or not. I told him I would help, but the sum ***** don't talk at me much.
I will let you know travel plans; we will be trailering over.

Need word from Doug Reed. There is some concern the Hotel will get all snotty about us cookin' in the parking lot and not giving the dinner business to them. Regardless of how nuckin' futs this seems, I don't want to do anything that will cause Doug any problems with the Hotel and that might cause them to look unfavorably on us...we may want to go back there again. I can be ready to cook with a couple days notice, though. Also, ribs need at least 6 hours on the smoker to get done and be 'right'....anything less is forcing the issue.

So...it depends on what Dougie and his crewe thinks is best. I'm willing and able...just need a nod from the coaches.

Lynn Johnson 09-18-2003 11:13 AM

Florida Travelers - Heading out from Jax in am Thursday. Driving, not trailering. Can meet in Tallahassee around noon, or anywhere else along I-10.

Do want to get to hotel before too late in afternoon. Got to get ready to drink, you know.

Ahhhh...these are my people....:3DSMILE:

PS...am in discussion now with Dougie concerning the ribs. Should have an answer soon.... Please stand by....

eticket 09-22-2003 08:00 AM

Maybe someone in the Tallahasse area can help with this, but I was thinking of meeting at the McDonalds that is outside of and east of Tallahassee off of I-10 I remeber it was next to a park, and down and across from a large shopping plaza. The Mcdonalds was 1 to 2 miles north of I-10, mabe leaving from the mickey-D around noonish? Any takers? I want to say it was the thomasville exit, but I am not sure. If anybody wants to do this we can swap cel numbers off line at michael.l.chambliss@lmco.com for those that do want to meet up. Mike:)

Attentionne...Attentionne.. cie vous plait...

Capcomm: Okay...go 'round the horn...need a 'GO' for ribs....Dougie?

Dougie: Go, Capcomm...

Capcomm: Louis?

Louis: Go for Ribs!

Capcomm: Freddie?

Freddie: Go , Capcomm...

Capcomm: We have 'GO' for ribs...

Just confirmed with emmissaries from the Crescent City that we have 'GO' for riboscos on Thursday PM. Smoking will commence in early afternoon for landing by 2000 local Thursday night. Fires lit by 1330, with liftoff at 1400 local. 2000 should find us deep into our cups and with barbeque wafting through the gulf coastal air. It will indeed be the 'pa-twa' place to be....the tunes will be playin', the rum will be flowin'....and the Bon Temps wil be a-rollez-in....

Now....we need to know who's interested in bringin' sometin' to the party. Dougie's Krewe has already signed up for Jambalaya on Friday night, so it's up to us to put together sometin' on Thursday... We need some beans, maybe some potato salad, some bread....and we already know we got beverages. Who's in to help out....? Sound off m'brothers.... Dis is gonna set the standard for Gulf Coastal partyin' for a while yet....you don' wanna be on the sidelines for this one. C'mon, sign up to bring some pot-luck....!

WBofTN 09-22-2003 09:15 AM

Freddie:
count me in for bread, paper plates, plastic spoons and most of all
napkins - lots of napkins!!
I will bring the stuff that can get there late (wifes comming - if you
catch my drift).
WB

Good Job Freddie

As promised I will be there to help setup and cook.
Co-pilot Dave (24 year old "the bachelor" son) will probably hit the casino to check for skirts, or lack thereof. But I will be available for the dirty work. We should pull in about time to lite the fires 1330. Probably have to spend Wed. nite around Tallahassee and pull out about 0800. I am going to drop Carol off at her parent's on the way over Wednesday, so my schedule is somewhat up in the air.

I will bring plates, utensils, and napkins, just need a head count.

I would bring food, but it would be so old by the time we eat the flies wouldn't want it as it would have to be prepared and packed on Tuesday.

TL :MECOOL:

Edit: WBofTN beat me to the plates, etc.
Give me another suggestion.

Flyin_Freddie 09-22-2003 09:38 AM

Read you 5 x 5, Wes.... message received and understood.

Just talked to Jerry Witt in Atlanta area...he's going to take care of some beans. It's starting to take shape.... you got the bread and eating utensiles...I know someone else will sign on here in the next several hours....

I've got the ribs handled....bringin' my big smoker and the travlin' grill as well ...I'll be ready to start the smoker by 1330, if all goes as planned. Ribs take about six hours, so we'll be good to go by 2000 local.

Whooooo-eeeeeee...I can already smell the hickory smoke now.....can you? :p
