You know two people at least who already have a place to stay. Thank you again and sorry we filled up all the bedrooms thus not leaving any room for others. ;) I am sure many of the partakers will not have a conflict with the dates. Seems the fling logistics will be interesting given the current sniper threat. %/

Willis vs Fling: Draws two different groups. Willis peole are trackers, Fling people are waxers. I have always been a tracker. I had a Ferrari and put less than 10,000 miles on it in 10 years. Never again. My cars are now for drivin', hard.

I won't be able to attend the Roebling Road event due to recently-created conflicts with my work schedule. Looks like I'm gonna be spending two weeks in the glorious United Kingdom that month. (Someone please shoot me.)
I seem to remember that someone (Engineer Ed, perhaps?) made reservations at a hotel and included a room in my name. Whoever did it, can you please cancel my reservation or re-assign it to someone else? Sorry, guys. I'll have to catch y'all the next time we have a Cobra event at CMP in Kershaw. (sigh) |
Keith, how's the truck and did you do the fly/drive like I suggested?
|
Does wax take the BBQ stain from fiberglass?

Its getting so close that I can almost smell the sunburns--
Mike- I'll see you at Road Atlanta, I have decided to run the "I" car so we can play together. Its your track, so I'm counting on you to show me the line. We need to get orgnized for the WW, the smack-talk will have to be adequately ramped up. I suggest that everyone try to meet a deadline of May 1st to chime in with outrageous boasts and challenges. As a teaser, I suggest that we see who can do the fastest lap relative to power to weight ratio (driver included, since I'm a lardo) the track has a scale, but since this is not to be a timed event, I'm sure that we can all be trusted not to exaggerate our lap times:D Rick |
Can anyone recommend a hotel near the track that has a parking lot friendly to trailers?
|
Tommy-
Comfort Inn has plenty of room for trailers, but most of us just un-hook at the track-- your car will be very safe there, much more so than in any hotel lot! Rick |

Johan-
Thats O.K. but you have to admit that my proposal would put the cars/drivers handling into better perspective. Is there any truth to the rumor that Spydee has gone the Jim Hall route by adding a 4.3 volt "Dirt Devil" vacuum and inner tube skirts to his mini frisbee?? Would add new meaning to the phrase "that guy really sucks" Rick |
I'm rolling on the floor laughing my ass off !
Spydee has taken his car all apart and is working on painting it in his driveway, which is right across the street from the end of my driveway. It has been pitiful to watch. He is repainting it the same piss yellow that it was. |
Look, don't be too hard on him--when a guy goes to the trouble of breaking into the Dept of Transportation's paintlocker to steal road striping paint, he needs some moral support. That stuff comes in 55 gallon drums-- he's gonna re-paint so often that he'll be heavier than my car.
Rick |
If he runs the output end of that Dirt Devil to his intake, he can supercharge his engine while sucking like a Chapparal. Now THAT would be a race car.

TC - The Luscombe wasn't quite fast enough. Would've taken a few days at the fastest. I had it shipped instead (cha-ching!). Picked it up in Roswell off Holcolm Bridge Road one Saturday (man, how do you guys put up with that traffic?). I love the truck! It's awesome! It's currently at the shop having ALL the fluids and filters zero-timed so I can start from a known point with maintenance. Also having a receiver hitch installed. Will also look at having Line-X or Rhino put in sometime this summer. Gets between 16 to 17 MPG which I figure is about right.

Keith, that is good mileage for combined. I got 14 city, 18 highway before opening her up with a chip and exhaust and now get 18-19 City, 24 Highway. Towing my 28 foot tag along, I got 8-12, now get 14-18 depending on terrain. That's at 70-80 and only on open road as that is a good 7-8 tons barrelling along.

Who gives a crap about your milage. I want to go to the Willis races
|
You can only show with a real Cobra. Recommend travel to the Deep South.
|
Folks-
Just got an e-mail saying that the POC event for the weekend prior to the Willis is cancelled due to the organizer's current health. Like many of you I had planned to attend that event, so if you need to adjust your reservations, etc. do so. Rick |
Johan,
Can you tell us if this will affect the schedule for the Willis races? What about the "PARTY!"? Ed |
