North Fl. area ERA FIA?

I am thinking about putting a payment down on an ERA FIA. I would love to be able to see one that has the motor in, and body on the frame. I am looking for ideas for exhaust, so the car need not be completed. I am willing to drive several hundred miles, or about

Shiloh4065 12-02-2006 10:33 AM

Rather than drive several hundred miles, there are cheap flights to the Northeast during winter. Fly into Hartford Ct., and go visit the factory, it's only 45 minutes from Hartford (maybe less). RD

Shiloh, I have been to the facotry for ERA, but there was only a body on a frame. I like the people, and product. I will most likely buy an ERA. I was just hoping to find one close by. By the time it takes to get North see the facility, and get home again 2 days have passed, but thanks for the thought...John

John,

If you can't swing a CSX or KMS than ERA is your only alternative if details are important. ERA FIA's are very accurate and I have yet to see one that is sub-par. Unique makes a great car too.

Call Peter and ask then who is in your area. Every time I have gone to ERA
there is always FIA either under build or in there travel trailer for show. I am sure he could give you contacts for your area to see first hand their quality.

Best of luck!
Jeff

Just 6 months ago I outfitted a spanking new shop, muffler, everything new. For now funds are tight, but ERA is in my budget, and my trip to their facility was inspiring. A quality product is produced there. I prefer to build, and then drive to make it all the sweeter, and watch the funds. Everybody here has been great help with many of my questions. I am waiting to call Peter on Monday to see if he can locate a car for me to look at. He was ill on Friday.

Shiloh4065 12-03-2006 06:40 AM

John, you should call Gemini Motorcars in Orlando, Fl. Ask for Russ Edwards. They were at the Reptile Roundup car show in 2005, and they had a black ERA 289 FIA Cobra that they had built for a customer. The show it on their web site. Their phone number is (407) 857-8587, and I believe the owner is located in North Florida. Good luck.Rick

WarrenG 12-03-2006 08:20 PM

Check with Peter at ERA. I know that there is at least one ERA FIA in florida. Not sure exactly where, but the owner has a 727 area code. If you email me a contact info, I'll pass it on to him.

Era Fia

The ERA FIA that was built by Gemini Motorsports in Orlando is located in the Tampa area. Bruce or Russ at Gemini can put you in touch with the owner, I'm sure.

TampaFla is the Club Cobra member who owns it.

Hey imagine2frolic, I just sent you an E-mail. Thanks, Matt.

Shiloh4065 01-07-2007 12:54 PM

There was a 289 ERA FIA at the Kruse Auction on Saturday January 6. Too bad you didn't get a chance to check it out (are you presently anchored in Miami??)

imagine2frolic 01-07-2007 06:00 PM

Shiloh, I am in the Oranger Park area, and will be for at least several months. Getting the shop going. If things go well these next 4 months I will be in Miami in May. On my way to the Bahamas for a month. If things stay nuetral then I will be in the shop doing what I can to get it going. After only 5 months I am already doing mostly word of mouth business, so my hopes are high. I surely miss Miami, and the Bahamas...Do you know what the car went for?

Shiloh4065 01-07-2007 06:05 PM

Imagine. I don't know if it sold. I left around 4:40 PM and it still had at least another hour til it hit the block. Kruse aution's data base still has not been updated so it still shows open. I am sending ERA my deposit in the morning for an FIA car. Can't wait to get it. RD

Shiloh4065 01-25-2007 04:30 PM

Imagine. I checked on the Kruse Auction site, the black on black ERA FIA with a 289 motor and Toploader wide ratio 4 speed, and 2:88 rear went for $31,000 at the auction (+ 10% buyers premium). A steal. The seller had never heard of Cobra Country. I sent my deposit to ERA 3 weeks ago, visited last weekend, and just got my chasis number today. They start building my car tomorrow!!!!!! So we are breaking out the champagne tonight, even if it's with burgers!!!!!! Rickd

WarrenG 01-25-2007 05:10 PM

What is your chassis number? I've got 2111 in final assy now and plan on going up to ERA at least 1/month until it is done. When I do I can view and photo the progress if you want.

Shiloh4065 01-25-2007 05:28 PM

Peter told me it will either be 2117 or 2118. Should have the "final answer" in a day or so. A photo would be great. I will probably cash in all of my frequent flyer miles going up to check on the progress. Thanks from Miami, Rickd

Way To Go Rick Can Wait To See It, Garcia

Shiloh4065 01-26-2007 05:07 AM

Warren. What color is 2111? I saw a beautiful Viking Blue FIA that had just come back from paint, and also a really nice navy blue one. Garcia, you will DEFINITELY see it on arrival as I am counting on you to help me wire the car!!! Then off to G's for the motor installation (306? or 331???).

imagine2frolic 01-26-2007 07:02 AM

Congradulations Rick. Are you doing a complete build? My plan is still late winter, and that is coming soon. The business is starting to pick up quickly, and soon I will be comfortable sending off a check. It has been 6 months of looking, and searching for what I want, and I have a firm plan now. Keep me posted
