Friday night! You asked, we WIll deliver!
A DVSF Party under the lights!
Close to the hotels! Wide open spaces, entertainment, a picnic! How about softball, and volley ball? Want to decide teams? Want to suggest how we get everybody into the games?

Catered? Absolutely! Under the lights? Of course! Certainly not stadium type lighting, but we will be setting up some lights for the evening.
Family event? Do you even need to ask?

Will we provide transportation again? NOPE.....you can walk over--stagger or crawl back to the hotels!

Remember the beautifull grounds bordering the hotels? St. James-Lutheran Church has "donated" their property to us for the evening! (DV Jr. pulled this one off!) They infact have invited you to "drive around the corner" and park on their grass to show off. Really! We will be setting up a huge tent for all of our Friday nights events, raffle, dinner, get togethers, etc.

This is the beautifull old church that you pass as you pull into the hotels. We can't get it closer than this. The church trustees, have watched us for three years, hoping they could get involved! Geesh, all they had to do was ask!

With their help, we will take care of lighting, seating, and of course the food. They are also letting us use their baseball diamond, and if you want, we'll set up a volleyball net for the more adventerous! YOU bring the kids, gloves, bats, softballs, whatever.

Maybe a new tradition can be started, you know, something like small blocks, vs. big blocks with a trophy that is passed on year to year?

Did I mention that we will have a beer truck on site? Bring your coolers, COOKIES, cakes and any other goodies. May I also suggest bringing a can of bug sray?

Not sure who just yet, for the band, (we've actually had numerous offers!)but we'll keep you posted on that one.
Party, party, party...Just be ready to pull out no later than 9 AM the next morning!
Let the games begin!

DV..."If you come--you WILL come back!" You aint seen nuthin' yet!

 Dear Mr. Venom,
I accept with pleasure your kind invitation to join you in dining and some form of ritual combat on the Church grounds on Friday night, the twenty-fifth of June in the Year of our Lord two thousand four, at a time of your choosing.

 Sincerely,

 INDY

I have a question, since my Cobra is no where near ready to drive, what activities could a person indulge in while there, other than the obvious Friday night party?? Anything for the non-vehicle participant to do on Saturday or Sunday?? I would like to attend if there are activities for grounded drivers>>>>>>

 Earl,
What did you do to not have your Cobra for the Fling?
Hmm, Cobra less, normally I would suggest that you absolutely come, we'll find you a ride, which we will!

Obviously, since my "DV" is being raffeled off, the Mrs. & I will also be looking for rides.
As it stands right now, we will be acutally using our Cobras more than ever. However , by tomorrow, we may have a whole new agenda. Even more showing off, but at a venue where you will have many different options if you are cobraless.

More on this hopefully by Wednesday! Stay tuned!

DV... "WE" are getting privileges! |

DV,For one, I would be more than happy to give you or the Mrs. a ride in my car...not the fastest around, but it can run. My wife is going to ride with me when she can, but since we're transporting the wee one, she'll be using our support vehicle alot (unless we can find some kind of carpool vehicle that can transport kids).

As for the Friday plan, I think it sounds awesome. Do you want to make this "the" picnic, instead of Saturday at Deer Creek? Either way, please let me know how my wife and I can help.

 Steve

 Steve,
Friday will stand alone, trust me on this one!
It's actually Sunday that may totally bust loose!

IF the State of Ohio comes through like all of us at Fling HQ think they will, all I can say is WOW!

Answer hopefully tomorrow.

You bring up a great point...wish there was someway we could find out how many people would need or make use of a "support" vehicle. If we had enough kids, I'd rent a school bus and a couple of "mentors" to make sure the young, youngin's amongst us did'nt get bored!

The logistics would be easy to do if there would be the need.

DVSF IV...WILL be Cobras, Cobras, Cobras ! You will party, play and show off like never before.

DV...Be there no doubt--"WE" are family!

P.S. Who needs 14 months to put a Fling together? Eighty eight days seems to be working just fine |

Cool. Just keep me posted on anything I can do.
I for one would make use of a child transport. We wouldn't really need someone to watch him, it would just be nice to be able to have him safely transported from event to event, so that my wife and I can ride together in the Cobra. One of our favorite things last year was meeting at the gas station, and taking those early morning, sunshine cruises. We enjoyed being able to ride together in the nice weather. As it stands now, I'll have to ride the Cobra, and she'll follow me. Maybe a group of us can alternate transporting kids??? My support vehicle will seat a lot of junior Flingers.

Ed, having been to DVSF I & III I can't wait for this year's event.
I can't tell you how much we appreciate all the time and effort you put into this event! Believe me, no matter what we do, it's great just to gather with our "family". Anything else is just a bonus. Look forward to seeing you.
Thanks for all the hard work,
Larry & Mary Russo

 Steve,
You may have hit on another great idea. Why don't you try posting that question. Maybe "WE" can form our own car pool.If we have enough people bringing their offsprings, I will get transportation.

Larry you and Mary are too kind! Thank you it is appreciated, Hey, it's only a picnic with, what, 15, 20,000 horsepower!
DV...I hope you guys remember to bring the cookies! If you come--You WILL come back! |

I too am wondering what the Cobraless will do. I'm just getting ready to drop the motor and will not be ready in time. Is it worth me coming? |

Even if you are without a Cobra it is a great event to attend. I'd planned on driving my SPF from WA(state) last year when I lost the rearend a week before my planned departure. Could not get the thing up and running in time to make the drive, I was driving alone and just didn't want to push it, a long drive ,and not enough time.
I jumped on a plane and went anyway. It was worth it. Fantastic to see something close to 300 Cobras all in one small part of Ohio.
I rented a car and went to all the events, many of the guys offered me rides. Worth it to just check out the cars from virtually every MFG. Plus seeing the individual touches people have done to their cars from mild to wild.

And need I say meeting the people. I want to go this year again but it is looking doubtful at this point if I'll be able to.

So if you are debating about going 'cuz you won't have a Cobra go anyway--granted it may be more fun to pilot your own but you'll really be looking forward to getting your car done for next year

It is about the people with a side of cars. I have never met any one that came without their car that regreted attending. In fact I recommend coming before your car is complete or even purchased. All the ideas you get is worth the trip alone.Rick
