 Jim, it is getting funny.
We stopped talking about what we were talking about.

I'm just going to take a hint from that and keep not talking about it for a while.

This year was my first Fling. I had a great time. Of course I was with the guys from CACC. How could you help but have a good time dispite the guys from DE.
I thought DV and crew had a lot of of different things do and activities to get involved if you chose to.

I've been thinking this over carefully. I'd like to follow Ed's generous lead. For the next DVSF I'll donate my SPF roller for the bargin price of $80,000.

First, I've been to Fling I, III & IV so I have some history. THANKS Ed for all your hard work! I think the main points can be boiled down to these:
            1. The charity aspect is a sideline to the event.
            2. Saturday in London is the most unique event in
the world, and is the heart of the Fling.
            3. The motel parking lot is party central.
            4. We are adults? and can entertain ourselves.
            5. Ask any car group in the world if they would spend
$100 to do burnouts in downtown and party all night in
                the parking lot.
See you all at Fling V
Larry

Why all the arguing and bullcrap? The Fling is Eds' baby, he should be able to decide what happens to it. Why are people getting on each other about it? We should all put our thoughts, comments, CONSTRUCTIVE criticizm and suggestions out there and let Ed and whoever else he wants to involve decide what to do with it.
Like others said, if it's in the London area, just tell us where and when and I know lots of our gang (yes, we'll admit there are Delaware folks in it ) will be there.

Darn it all anyway, I'm going to the next one -- with or without all of ya!!! LOL
I think Rick made excellent point, he said it was about the cobra family. I have, in time, noted that we are the most helping group of _ _ _ _ _ , I have ever encountered. We offer more advice and help than any nation -- organization or fraternity. It is in our fibre to fix a cobra ( may be we are really brain dead. LOL ).

The fling is a place to meet, talk, showoff and see what the other guy has.

You can take away the raffle, the tent(s) and anything else ( as long as you leave the 93 or better fuel ) and we would gravitate to a place to meet, talk, showoff and see what the other guy has.

I will be there. And, if I am called upon to help, I will ( if possible ).

 Just my $0.03

I want to know why Trularin gets 3 cents when everyone else gets 2 cents.
I know, I've used up a couple of bucks, here....

 Breaking my silence here...
I loved Flings 1 through 3. It broke by heart to have to miss 4, but I hear it was great fun. The Fling is the highlight of my summer. I can't wait for 5. I'll be there. I'll buy a raffle ticket for whatever car you raffle off. I'll donate to charity if that's what we all agree to do. I'll enjoy myself.

I think the formula we're looking for is more simple than complex. Let's just keep it about the cars and the people who drive them. Let the past go-completely. I would suggest that keeping strict accountablility for the rather large amount of money involved might hold down any future hard feelings and skepticisms. Ed has put together some great stuff for us and I know I am not the only one grateful to him for that. If he got (and would accept) a little help, this thing could really go off the chart, fun-wise, that is.

whew. this continues without real Cliff's Notes, it is an epic novel already ...
I guess the real questions are easy, and would allow DV more time to play with his building in Michigan without having to write an epistle.

Lessee , DV, in Cliff's Notes fashion :

 1. is there a fling ?
 2. where is it ?
 3. when is it ?
 4. who is the contact.

then , once DV takes 30 secs to answer those questions he can add : stay tuned, more info to come.

that way folks can plan their vacation time, get their spousal permission slips, arrange their schedules NOW and thus hopefully be able to contribute to increased attendance (= increased donations ) , no ? bill
