 Jack,
I said I was done with this, but since you've decided to go after me here about a discussion on another forum that most people here cannot judge, I am forced to respond.

I have to respectfully suggest that you re-read carefully what I said on that other forum. I have re-read it several times.

I have never intended to "badmouth" DV, because I do not know him, and I don't have ANY facts. I honestly was trying to explain what I'd heard over there and why I thought things had gotten so heated. I, perhaps, mistakenly, thought I was among friends, who might be interested in hearing each side of the story. I also tried to say, I didn't REALLY know what was going on, since I had no first-hand information, only what others were saying.

Would I change certain words if I had to do it all over again. Sure I would, but the essence of my msg. was not intended to be imflammatory. We'd all like the luxury of going back chronologically and very meticulously changing words here and there.

I was sincerely hoping this would die down, because I think it's horribly destructive. I have purposely stayed away from the subject, and that's NOT what this post is about. I will no longer comment on anything having to do with Ed or the Fling.

You should follow your own advice, and just let it die down. What purpose did you serve by stirring up things again and trying to insult people including me? Does this help repair the damage and promote getting things back on the right track?

Everyone has their own perception of how certain people come across, including me. But I won't go there either..................... I've never personally attacked anyone on any forum.

All;As an active member of this forum I would like to continue making some observations. I personally know Ed, Rick, Al, Steve, JP, Dan and Brian, most of us have been guests in Ed's home. We all belong to the same club, (oh my) the "Ohio Coba Club". We've all drank beer together. Believe it or not, we are all pretty good guys. But, now we seem to be jumping all over each other and one thing for sure, no one can say that we are not an opinioned group or that we are afraid of expressing our thoughts. The issue here is, how do we deal with the conflict? Learning this lesson should make us stronger and should not divide us. To emphasize this, I want to buy the first beer at the Christmas party and make a toast to us all.
I admit, I was one of the first individuals who ask for financial accountability. The analytical side of me asks the question, but that's me. I personally do not see how this could make the Fling any less. It is my opinion and only an opinion, it can only make us stronger and it brings professionalism and accountability to the event. Intentionally or not, when the Fling took on the form of being a "fund raiser" the rules changed. Yes, it is a "family picnic" but, again, the rules changed and we have to change with them.
I can not appoligize for expressing what I feel is right, nor have I been asked to. As I mentioned earlier-- it's the analitical side of my brain, it begs to ask questions and find solutions .
Again, no one is accusing anyone of being underhanded but, if we are looking for ways to improve the Fling this is my input, opinion and suggestion.

Ed- thank you for the invitation to this years Spring Fling. As you know, I'm a terrible cook so, I will not be adding to the menu. However, I do want to feel as though I am doing my fair share and that I am a part of the "family". So Ed, I would appreciate it if you would please accept my financial contribution to the reunion. Also, I'm am asking you, to let me know, if you need any help let me know, as I want to pay my fair share (my ego needs this).
Finally, except for the aforementioned, I don't think you need to change a thing, I've loved being a part of the "Family" for the past four years.

I'm Mike Braatz and I approve this message.

Dave,The past is the past -- what happened -- happened -- I think the best way to proceed is to let it go -- it's seems you are upset with Ed because he didn't listen to you. Well, I don't think you are going to get a 500 word essay on how mistakes were made and for "some" to beg for forgivness, I can't see that happening.
I'm sure you got frustrated and upset but Dave that was four years ago -- so now you can now say I told you so -- ok, said.
I'm not sure what you are asking Ed for or what you are alluding to.
The past is done -- it's over -- For the next Fling Ed will make the decisions regarding the Fling and I think most attendees will agree with his choices, if we don't, then we will have choices to make. We are welcome to post our thoughts and opinions and I think constructive, factual and creative ones are always welcome. Again this is only my opinon.

....and all THIS after TC Cobra said,"Nothing else need be said."

You guys are not listening, are you?
I had a bunch of things to say, but it was decided by Dwain, there was nothing else to talk about.

Damn, I wish I knew it was OK to break the curfew. I had a 13 page rebuttal to BLACKJACK. I guess I will just post it on some other forum.

 great 28 pages of drivel.
 Here's a thought...

identify a charity, have them set up a "Cobra fund".

Everyone writes a check directly to the charity.

 No questions.

 No accusations.

 End of story.

 Bernie,
We have a great time --- but the gifts we exchange, at the Christmas party, this year, may need to be scanned.
