Default Speedometer cable

Bob - I swapped the 160 mph clockwise speedo for the 180 mph counterclockwise speedo with reverse adaptor. Haven't spent too much time thinking this out but I have noticed a couple references to different rotation type speedo cables. Since the reverse adaptor goes on the transmission instead of the gauge I guess the cable does spin in reverse. Should I have swapped out the cable for a different type also?

Thanks

Dan

What transmission? Only on the Richmond Gear do we normally use the right-angle at the transmission end. That does use a different cable. See the manual.

A toploader - sounds like I have the right cable.

Thanks

My reverse adaptor is mounted on the back of the gauge. I have a toploader.

Mine reverse adapter on the speedo as well, was a top loader, just recently dropped in a TKO 600. But I didn't change the cable or the gears or nothing, just put it in because it fit. Seems to be working fine.

...now, should I be waiting for the other shoe to drop and don't even know yet that I have a problem???

Cable is Cable -- the drive inverter adapter is the important part for rotational specs.
