Default Hard top

The hard top in the picture belongs to a superformance cobra,i do not think it will fit the era style car.

The interchangeability will depend on how accurate the SPF is.

Dimensions that I would compare:

Height of the roll bar and clearance to the inside of the top.
Location of the roll bar back-brace and how much clearance there is to the hard top.
Angle of the windshield.

If the top comes unpainted, it's not a big deal to trim or add to the contour where it meets the rear cowl to match the ERA.

I wouild suggest the CCX top for sale in the For Sale forum. CCX was accurate, large rubber gasket (fitment plus), and a $ steal compared to SPF top.

SPF has their rollbar brace closer to the cockpit than ERA. I doubt that top will work on an ERA.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to stretch the driving season a bit.

Will fit however it will take some effort as the roll bar will be a consideration. All you do is cut a slot in the top and fill with ally sheet bent of course. Thus the need for unfinished top.

I think the top you posted would work Jeff. I don't think the red top will though due to the back window. I should have been more clear.

Bob - do you think that top could be retrofitted to fit an ERA 289 FIA?

Rick,

The only way I could have a better idea is to see a shot directly from the top. Then I could semi-model the contour. The original FIA race car's hard top configuration had an extension to move the filler to the surface of the top itself, to make filling faster.
