Uhh, the likelihood of that fork cracking and Peter calling me up to offer me the head mechanic's position at ERA are the same.:rolleyes: But I will clean it up with a grinding stone, or maybe even the tungsten carbide bit that I never even opened. I put a little over 1,000 miles a year on her -- going in to my fifth year. I don't take her out if it's below the high 50's, or if there's any sort of precipitation called for. From Thanksgiving to Easter I keep her in an air-tight "car bag" with a desiccant -- so for about five months out of the year she's just napping in her bag.

No, I would have been quite comfortable doing a truly half-ass job. It was the cajoling from the gallery that forced me to do a quality job. That, and I know Bob P. is watching and grading me.;) |
