Looks quite clean under there. Very nice work, by the way. Curious if you drive this car much?

That's purty. Peter just called back and said he found your employment application. They're be reviewing it shortly.

I put a little over 1,000 miles a year on her -- going in to my fifth year. I don't take her out if it's below the high 50's, or if there's any sort of precipitation called for. From Thanksgiving to Easter I keep her in an air-tight "car bag" with a desiccant -- so for about five months out of the year she's just napping in her bag.

Nicely done. I'm sure you feel much better about yourself for doing it right.

No, I would have been quite comfortable doing a truly half-ass job. It was the cajoling from the gallery that forced me to do a quality job. That, and I know Bob P. is watching and grading me.

If that's a quality job, I'm glad you're not a brain surgeon.
Forget Peter-you can buy his loyalty with a sub with the works on it.
Putnam only watches you because he has to jump to answer every ERA question directed to him, before you do.
It's Ted and Doug you have to fear. If you ever go near there again, they have sworn to bludgeon you to death with a third roll bar after you desecrated the car with the second. They are also puking over the license light housing with five holes in it for your Menudo light show. Can purple neon under the pipes be far behind...

Certainly not jealous of your building skills which caused the problem in the first place.

Not a Perrier bottle but the Persian rug is a nice touch for bleeding.
Anything less significant you can think of to make a post with visual aid?

No Runs, No Drips, No Errors...

Counselor- a couple of serious inquires.
Did the scattershield come with such a large cut out? My Lakewood's is much closer to the fork.
I was gonna ask if your banjo fitting and 90 came pre-oxidized as a joke but I realized I've seen other areas of your chassis and fasteners showing light surface rust. I'm wondering if that bag you store it in contains or captures moisture. Do you put desiccant in it? If you inflate it with compressed air, then that's where moisture gets in-and stays for the winter.
Jus sayin'...

Nice job! It even looks like you cut too much out, but I'm sure you need the clearance. You know. That saying. Measure twice, cut once.
Or in my case, Measure once, cut twice, maybe thrice.

It's a standard Lakewood, but the bottom is trimmed by ERA. It's probably just an optical illusion. I find when shooting on the angle a lot of things, and their perspective, appear to be very deceptive.

This area is pretty bad for rusting. The humidity, coupled with the temperature range and change, is pretty much the pits. That surface rust you see occurs during the non-bag months. Fresh desiccant goes in the car bag each year and, either last year or the year before, I went to the trouble of taking high-res shots of stuff like the rotors and other "easy rusting" pieces "before and after" her snooze in the bag. She came out looking exactly like she looked when she went in.

Well thank you for the compliment! I didn't want to have to do it twice, so I cut a little bit extra, but not too much.

As you say, photos can be deceptive. So I have to ask, in your last photo it appears you do not have locating dowels in your bellhousing?? Or is that hole for a different application??

Another optical illusion, complete with surface rust and all.
