Coleman brake calipers
Bob, still waiting for my big brake Coleman calipers for 2139, approaching five month mark. Have you heard any resolution with the issues of these calipers? I am overseas as of now, but will be back home in two months to resume assembly of the car. I hear Peter P does not do email, so you are my only hope. Wolfgang

Not true, we exchanged emails this morning (although they need to go through Peter P.'s technical advisor John). I use eraportante@sbcglobal.net.

No reply, one week. Am I the only one who is waiting on these calipers? Anybody else ordered the large brake package from ERA? Bob, I see that you answer most posts in this forum.

Wolf,
It is painful to watch your surprising lack of progress and contact with ERA. Unless you've paid for the parts, why not consider sourcing a set of AP's, Brembos or other serious brake package?

It's been a mess around here with all the snow. More snow, sleet and freezing rain today...
I just printed this thread out on LittleJohn's printer. That should get some reaction.

ERA still has the "old" mode of communication... a telephone. You might try that. I was in New Britski yesterday and, while Peter may be getting on in years, he still knows how to dial one.

Presently, I am on a ship off the coast of South America, email is my only form of communication.
ERA Chas, I have paid in full. Also been waiting for FIA wheels and steering column.
However, I did receive an email today via John, that the parts are being shipped today.

Six large boxes from ERA arrived at home, this dilemma is over. Will start on the car again in March, should be on the road shortly after. This forum has been a great help.

By the way, Calipers that were sent out are Willwood Superlights. Any pros or cons with this caliper?

I have them for years and they're fine for street/light track use. For track only, they flex a bit. APs or maybe Brembos would be better for track only.

? I received Coleman from ERA...4 piston type. The superlights look to be 4-piston also. They seem to be about the same price. I think the superlights look better as they have a painted..baked finish. The Coleman's are not coated. I'm not sure why they switch around sometimes....but it's my guess that both would work fine. Their marketing states.."Willwood"...so they might be trying to stay inline with their literature.

It may also have something to do with supplier availability.
