Default Back Up Light

California DMV requires a back up light.

Where are you mounting one on an SC?

Steve's (PANAVIA) writing isn't CA law, and it may not be current to 2011, but I'll take a quote from it:

"Let them know you are asking to be tested as a 1965 motor vehicle, this will
dispense with the needs for “Side Marker Lights” and “Reverse Lights”, which were required in 1968 and 1966 respectively."

If you really have to have one, then just bolt (or even zip tie) an ATV reverse light like this one: http://www.warn.com/atv/lights/ATV-BackUpLight.shtml to either your rear bumper or quickjack and then remove it after your inspection. The reverse switch on the more modern transmissions, like the TKO, are as simple as it gets and you can wire it up in a few minutes.

I had a jackass inspector that insisted I have TWO backup lamps. I did install an older Mini-Cooper backup lamp under the trunk latch.

Got two trailer style units, some scrap aluminum and hooked them both up to my tranny switch:

Afterwards, I removed them and have been running around with just the one Mini-Cooper lamp.

BTW: I have two trailer lamps with brackets if anyone wants them to pass inspection!!!! PM me if you really want them.

Went to auto store bought one clear lense fixture and some velcro, then attached velcro to underside of gas tank and light.

Been there for three years hasn't fallen off yet.
