It appears that my transmission has a leak and I need to access it - there is a bar that goes across the bottom - so, it appears that access is from the floor of the interior (I'm a driver, not a builder).
Could someone point me to the steps required to access the transmission?
This can be done with the car on the floor. Remove seats (4 bolts each from underneath). Remove shifter boot and handle. Remove the E-brake boot. Remove sheetmetal screws from tunnel along sides. They can be accessed just under the carpet edge. Remove tunnel (it takes a little patience). This will expose trans, driveshaft, and E-brake. You should be able to adjust the E-brake here. Good to grease the U-joints while you're in there.

I don't know about your car, but on the later cars, there is also an inspection/access plate at the rear of the transmission cover that has to be removed before you can pull the trans cover. It has about a half-dozen screws. There may also have to be a little attention around the roll bar if you have one.
