Richmond 5 speed and 2.88 rear

Hello All, I am currently saving my loot for a ERA 289,etting close. i am also collecting parts. i have come into a real nice Jag rear that is a 2.88 with LS.
i would just like your thoughts on small block with a Richmond 5 speed and a 2.88. the car will not be raced or autocrossed. thanks
