Default ERA FIA #2115 came to life 5/7/2014

A successful run around the block (several times). No overheating...no leaks.... starts and runs well. It does idle a little rough.... but I paid extra for that. A special thanks to Doug for answering all my questions. mike

Congratulations. Too bad your accomplishments are only rumors because there aren't any PICTURES.
Season wise you timed it just about right. A full driving season in front of you with a fresh ride. About as good as it gets.

Yep - pictures are mandatory - video optional, to support such claims.

A couple of pictures in my profile now. The video will come later. I'll get the hood and doors on this weekend, and update my profile next week. I think it took me about 8 year's...but I'm the type that like was happy just getting the car in my garage and working on it here and there. There was never any real big push to get it done....it just happened one day.

OK - now we believe you. Congratulations. Wow - 8 years. I thought I was the slowest ERA builder on record. You eclipsed me by quite a bit. We won't expect to see the video anytime soon.

Mike, I think that's wonderful. If I had built mine, it probably would have taken me eight years as well. Good job, and drive carefully.

I told a friend that yesterday if I had tried to build a kit it would have taken me 20 years and parts would be flying off every time I drove it!

Props to you guys that can do it!

The longest ERA build that I am aware of was 25 years. The owner bought the kit, got it home and opened the boxes... and there it sat. A year or so ago he finally came to the conclusion that he would never finish it and sent it back to ERA for them to finish, but with the proviso that they upgrade it to reflect all of the changes made to the cars over the years. The boyz in the shop said it would be easier to weld up a new chassis.

Twenty-five years! I'm feeling better all the time. I just wanted to be sure and finish mine while I could still manage to get into and out of it for a few years.

Nice to hear another of the "family" is on the road. I have 2111 so I'm guessing that yours was one of the cars in the shop when I was going up to NB to visit mine.

Yes Warren.... I think we met at ERA and spoke with Peter in his office for a short time. Your some type of investigator type guy during that PO Anthrax thing that went on several years ago... Yep.... it took me a while but I did the body work and assembly. Just got plates last week and waiting for Finishline to send me license plate brackets. Oh ya.... we just had Obama up here at Weston MA for a fund raiser last night.. Huge mass of SS/CIA guys all over while he (with Six Helicopters !) landed at the Middle School Ball Field. We were asked to vacate way before he arrived. Really quite a thing witness…. the copters flew over my house in Waylanad as he traveled between Worcester to Weston...... pretty cool....but you know....I'm not a Dem.. But it was interesting to see what a President does to get around. How is your FIA holding together ?
