Default SPAX Shock Eyelet Bush

I'm looking to replace a bush in the eyelet of one of my rear suspension SPAX coilovers. It's marked "64541636" which from what I can tell, is no longer produced.

From searching around the internet I do see some cross reference to an apparently equivalent Jaguar part#C3273 which has also been discontinued, but some of the vintage Jag parts dealers have aftermarket replacements available (however, they don't list the manufacturer).

I'll order them if necessary, but I'm curious if anybody knows of an applicable replacement from any of the major manufacturers (energy suspension or similar). They're usually easier to come by, ship faster, are cheaper than the vintage jag dealers, and may be higher quality if I can find polyurethane as opposed to the rubber that's in there now.

Default hope you find new one's, but in the meantime...

If the rubber inserts aren't split yet, Pull the shock and using a socket wrench socket push out the sleeve/rubber liner, rotate the liner ~90 degrees to a surface that isn't totally compressed and flat.

I was chasing down a chassis squeak a few years ago and pulled all the shocks and springs looking for galling and bad bushings. Rotated all the bushes on all the shocks to the uncompressed portion. (even rotated all the shocks to new positions front/rear and side/side...never found the squeak!)

You might try SUSPENSION RESTORERS for bushings...they are a distributor for Energy Suspensions...better prices than most of the retailers.

If you find a source for bushings...especially new ones! please post it.

I have bought rubber boots, etc "NOS" that are totally decayed...new manufacture would be better if at all possible.

Good luck on that search.

From searching further, I'm led to believe that part number 681-245 from Moss Motors may work:

MossMotors.com - Restoration Parts And Accessories For British Cars

They're polyurethane as well. At $10 for the set of 4 I just took the gamble and ordered them. I'll let you know if they work.

I'm sure I could find a universal bush kit that would work if I looked hard enough, but buying these kinds of things based off measurements never works out for me. I'd probably spend the cost of a new shock on shipping and restocking fees for parts that I had to return by the time I found the right ones, so hopefully these are good.

It would be enraging if I had to buy a new shock because I couldn't replace a $2 bush.

The set that I ordered from Moss Motors was not correct.

I looked everywhere for a universal bush in the correct dimensions but couldn't find anything.

I ended up ordering Energy Suspension part #9.8140G. $6 for two. They're correct in every dimension except width so I modified them by cutting about 1/8th of an inch off both ends and then scavenged the sleeve from the original. It was quite a bit of work to get things perfect but they came out better than I expected.

Unfortunately my OCD is going to force me to change the rest of them now, so I guess I've got my work cut out for me.

While searching, I did find this:
14-60216 - Spax Bushing, Fits G415, G448-S, G423S, G422

They're listed as compatible with my G415's so I assume in this case they are the correct part (and the picture shows them as OEM SPAX), but I wasn't going to pay $12x8 to refresh my whole rear suspension only to have the shocks go bad next year. Anyway, I looked for other sources of the part number shown in the picture above (SPX-0060216) and they might have the last 12 on earth as far as I can tell. If somebody only needed one or two it might be worth it to you to save your time modifying a universal bush.
